At Fast Wings Aviation, FAA-Certified Gold Seal Flight Instructors pass along the finer points of flying to pupils working toward a future in aviation. They open the sky to new students, taking their charges on Discovery Flights. Their most impressive part is their instructor, who has more than 10 years of experience and thousands of hours of flight instruction. Fast Wings Aviation has access to a fleet of nine aircraft's, such as Cessna, Piper, and Diamond. Their thrilling sample only begins the training, as they conduct full classroom and flight certification courses for private pilots and career minded pilots.
At more than 900 learning centers across the world, Sylvan offers kids a leg up through personalized, one-on-one programs prescribed by an in-depth skills assessment. Students build on past lessons to learn progressively, and sessions may hone in on different disciplines, granting kids the confidence to interpret literature and the rhetorical skills needed to negotiate a later bedtime. The positive mindset of personable, invested instructors helps to inspire kids to greater academic feats, as does a prize program that rewards hard work with CDs and gift cards.
Strength is both a physical quality and a state of mind at Athlete's Arena. Here, NSCA-certified personal trainers, strength and conditioning specialists, and weightlifting coaches propel athletes of all levels toward fitness goals using intense workouts and constant motivation. In addition to teaching drills that boost speed, agility, and joint mobility, trainers lead functional training sessions that sculpt and strengthen the entire body with tools such as kettlebells and weighted sleds. Inspired by Olympic weightlifting and gymnastics, CrossFit sessions teem with barbell drills such as power cleans and functional bodyweight exercises such as pull-ups and burpees. Cardio challenges such as rowing round out these workouts, strengthening hearts and lungs while shaving away calories and moustaches made of string cheese.
On the tarmac at Fairfield County Airport, S & S Aviation's fleet of planes spins up its propellers. The fraternal twins—the Cessna 172P and 172K—set their nose cones revolving, and the Piper Arrow primes its touchscreen GPS unit. By operating under airspace unclogged by other fliers, S & S Aviation bypasses the limitations of sharing the skies and gets its students directly into piloting their own aircrafts.
