Master muscle sculptor Jenny Anania and her experienced instructors strive to fortify muscular infrastructure and shear superfluous curves with Secret Physique's medley of ballet, Pilates, yoga, and weight training. The Secret Physique Barre class's 60-minute sinew sonata features a free-weight prelude that heralds barre and abdominal fitness flourishes, culminating in a crescendo of mat core work, seat exercises, and stretching. Students can also beef up builds and auditions for The Nutcracker Takes Thanksgiving with the Bardio class's aerobic cardio and ballet barre positions, or strut through the sultry steps of Hollywood Dance's burlesque choreography.
Riverside Dance Center's teachers have helped fledgling dancers shimmy with precision for nearly 30 years. The studio's owner leads each adult class through a series of steps, emphasizing technique as students explore clicks, stomps, and shuffles. Kids strut to beats and rhymes in Hip-Hop I and II, learning how to ignite a rap battle in case of emergency. Today's Groupon may also be used for Stretch & Tone exercise classes or a Zumba workshop, which shows fitness seekers dance-inspired moves that burn calories when paired with Latin-style rhythms.
At Expressions Dance Center we believe that each dancer is unique and will learn at their own pace. Our creative, experienced faculty is dedicated to building self-esteem and confidence, while encouraging our students to achieve their personal best. We offer classes for students age 2 and up!
The music is bumping, the moves are rhythmic, and up to 1,000 calories are burning away. That's just a bit of what Zumba classes are like at ZASS Fitness. In their new studio replete with a new floor, amped-up air conditioner, and extra ceiling fans, certified instructors lead fun, fitness-oriented dance classes. Inspired by Latin dance moves, Zumba enhances cardio, sheds weight, and tones muscles. The instructors also love Zumba because it increases flexibility and encourages self-expression through movement. To augment the festive vibe, the studio hosts parties for kids that include one hour of fitness dancing and another hour for partying.
Instead of using dance as a means to feed competitive spirits, Busy Bodies Studio teaches students of all ages and skill levels how to use movement-based arts as a means of self-expression and self-improvement. The instructors lead lessons for children, teenagers, or adults that explore a range of dance styles, including everything from ballet and ballroom to hip-hop and tap. Regardless of the particular style that each class covers, every lesson shares the common goal of creating an inviting, non-competitive atmosphere for attendees and any ghosts just observing. This atmosphere helps put students at ease, allowing them to enjoy their experience while they become more physically fit and develop a greater appreciation for dance in general.
Arthur Murray has been a leading name in franchise dance since 1912, when the entrepreneur began selling mail-order dance lessons. Expanding his reach, he enlisted teachers to spread his signature dance lessons on first-class steamships and skyrocketed to fame in the '30s after introducing the public to such dances as the Lambeth Walk and The Big Apple. By the 1950s, Arthur and his wife, Kathryn, were hosting their own highly popular TV show on ABC, The Arthur Murray Dance Party, which ran for 12 years. Today, Arthur Murray's team prepares students for rug cutting at special events and weekend nightclub jaunts. Throughout lessons, instructors teach the foundations of two to four dances from a long list of styles that range from Latin to country-western, helping students to learn basic step patterns, timing, and the ability to lead or follow.
