During the Revolutionary War, a Choctaw woman who lived in a nearby village overheard plans for an attack on the trading post where her British sweetheart lived. As she traveled 96 miles by pony to warn him, she named geographical points based on the distance from her home village. Six and Twenty Distillery is located approximately 26 miles from the start of her trip. Owners Robert and David decided to pay homage to this courageous woman?who saved her lover and married him soon after her adventure?by naming their distillery for her. Using a hybrid still, today they craft smooth, sweet whiskeys with wheat instead of corn, boxing up each batch by hand.
