Before her passion for aesthetics brought her to the United States, England native Nicola Cattle, who trained in the United Kingdom, France, and Switzerland, worked with a dermatologist and plastic surgeon in London. There she learned how to treat patients suffering from severe acne and how to combine aesthetic treatments with dermatological treatments.
Now, at Nicola of London Body & Skin Care, she continues this work alongside her international team of licensed aestheticians. They transform clients using a blend of European and American beauty techniques potent enough to erase fine age lines from even the most grizzled sea captain.
They customize treatments to each client?s skin type, sometimes veering from their extensive menu of spa services. The beauty experts perform European and green-tea facials, microdermabrasions, five PCA peels, ultrasound and red-light skin therapy, and a range of relaxation massages. They also perform Lymphobiology treatments?a process that relies on an enzyme peel, glycolic peel, or exfoliating grains used in tandem with steam and lymphatic drainage.
Current owner Flora Suissa and the founders of Suissa Salon trained in Paris and Montreal before opening their first salon in 1970 in the US. They took what they learned in the City of Light and the Province of Poutine, and created their own brand of salons. It was only a matter of time before their style shops grew into myriad locations.
Today, Suissa features a roster of talented stylists, aestheticians, and nail artists. They've also got an ace up their sleeve: Eve Diaz, who developed her own line of beauty products?LaPenotiere?which is the primary product line featured here. Armed with talent and products, stylists deliver haircuts, coloring, and keratin treatments that discipline frizzy and static-addicted hair. They also offer weft tape extensions and hijab services, offered in private suites. Suissa's stylists pride themselves on their versatility, which means they're familiar with a large and diverse client base and are adept at working with clients of all ethnicities and a wide range of hair types.
Helmed by experienced physicians and medical practitioners, Medi-Spa Services LLC conspires to restore skin to youthful vim and vigor via services such as skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, acne resurfacing, and cellulite reduction. Additionally, special lasers blast unwanted hair from their abodes and evict fungus from toenails. Their wrinkle-smoothing Botox treatments last usually for up to four months, ensuring skin as unfurrowed as the Secret Garden's even more-secret cabbage patch. In addition to their in-house treatments, the knowledgeable staff also helps partnering practices to launch into the Non-Invasive Cosmetic Enhancement (NICE) business by supplying them with state-of-the-art technology, custom marketing material, and training.
A team of trained technicians, master aestheticians, and massage therapists pampers and beautifies bodies in a bright, contemporary salon and tranquil treatment rooms awash in soothing earth tones. Staff guide guests through the spa to allay fine lines and age spots in facials with Guinot Paris and nutrient-rich Dermalogica products, oust stress with relaxing massages, detoxify skin with thermal mud wraps, and pamper nails with a list of nail services. Three levels of hairstylists transform manes with professional products from Moroccanoil, Wella, and Bumble and bumble, crafting looks as sculpted as the bar soap in Michelangelo's shower. The generous crew has also raised money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure by styling clients with pink hair extensions.
The soft ivory hues of Carla’s Salon glimmer beneath track lighting as clients recline in white leather haircutting chairs. While they relax, stylists return their mussed manes to a state of beauty with precision cuts, colors, and foil highlights. Unruly curly-qs and frizzy strands can be restructured into pin-straight lines with a Japanese Bio Ionic straightening system treatment and while that processes, clients can pass the time reading magazines or gazing upon rows of beauty products that separate the salon area from the front desk, willing them to levitate from their shelves.
Tucked within the salon is European Skin Care, a beauty haven dedicated to refreshing exteriors with 19 customizable treatments including peels, traditional mani-pedis, and body waxing. Aestheticians employ the powerful anti-aging effects of Image and Babor skincare products to ensure that clients leave beaming brighter than a lighthouse manned by a Mensa member.
SpaRelief LLC can administer spa services one by one, but that?s not their specialty. The staff of medical aestheticians and massage therapists, some of whom have trained with Aveda and Elizabeth Arden, are best at pairing together their luxurious treatments to create entire spa experiences. Aromatherapy blends designed to invigorate or detoxify contain botanical extracts, just like the spa?s private-label products of naturally derived and ethically sound ingredients. Extracts of pineapple, almond, and sea buckthorn enrich facials and massages alongside treats such as hot towels, paraffin dips, and love songs cooed to each vertebra by devoted massage therapists.
