Current owner Flora Suissa and the founders of Suissa Salon trained in Paris and Montreal before opening their first salon in 1970 in the US. They took what they learned in the City of Light and the Province of Poutine, and created their own brand of salons. It was only a matter of time before their style shops grew into myriad locations.
Today, Suissa features a roster of talented stylists, aestheticians, and nail artists. They've also got an ace up their sleeve: Eve Diaz, who developed her own line of beauty products?LaPenotiere?which is the primary product line featured here. Armed with talent and products, stylists deliver haircuts, coloring, and keratin treatments that discipline frizzy and static-addicted hair. They also offer weft tape extensions and hijab services, offered in private suites. Suissa's stylists pride themselves on their versatility, which means they're familiar with a large and diverse client base and are adept at working with clients of all ethnicities and a wide range of hair types.
The beautification experts at Prima Hair & Day Spa keep their clients' appearances in tiptop shape via salon, spa, and clinical skincare services. In addition to designing haircuts and painting in highlights, stylists can apply relaxers to type-A strands and craft up-dos for special occasions. During a microdermabrasion treatment, a specialist exfoliates skin with a diamond-tipped wand, sloughing away the top layer of cells most susceptible to sunlight, aging, and holiday cheek pinches. Below-the-neck pampering treatments include waxing, massage, and laser hair removal for lasting smoothness.
The stylists and relaxation experts at Nouvelle Salon keep themselves at the forefront of the beauty industry, offering the latest hair-, nail-, and skincare trends, including Shellac gel manicures and jelly pedicures. Classic accents, such as a crystal chandelier, elegant wall sconces, and tall white columns, evoke the feeling of a European retreat or Cecil B. DeMille storage space, swathing guests in timeless luxury made all the more impactful by modern touches, such as white leather salon chairs.
The soft ivory hues of Carla’s Salon glimmer beneath track lighting as clients recline in white leather haircutting chairs. While they relax, stylists return their mussed manes to a state of beauty with precision cuts, colors, and foil highlights. Unruly curly-qs and frizzy strands can be restructured into pin-straight lines with a Japanese Bio Ionic straightening system treatment and while that processes, clients can pass the time reading magazines or gazing upon rows of beauty products that separate the salon area from the front desk, willing them to levitate from their shelves.
Tucked within the salon is European Skin Care, a beauty haven dedicated to refreshing exteriors with 19 customizable treatments including peels, traditional mani-pedis, and body waxing. Aestheticians employ the powerful anti-aging effects of Image and Babor skincare products to ensure that clients leave beaming brighter than a lighthouse manned by a Mensa member.
When it comes to beauty, Maxime Coupe Salon and Spa pretty much does it all. Inside this large salon and spa in McLean, a fleet of licensed stylists cut clients' hair to match the latest trends and add rich color to highlight features, all while using their favorite professional Redken, Paul Mitchell, and Schwarzkopf products. Meanwhile, experienced nail technicians buff and polish nails, and aestheticians offer customized facials and wax away unwanted hair from brows, lips, legs, and kiwi fruits.
