Serving central Texas for more than 25 years, Bridal Extravaganza simplifies shopping for brides and grooms by collecting more than 200 vendors under one roof. The booths of experienced wedding professionals lure in couples to sample their wares, from planners showing off their color-coded to-do lists to caterers doling out tastes of cakes, dinner dishes, and champagne. Fashion shows give onlookers a taste of the latest dress fashions for brides and bridesmaids and the latest developments in the world of cummerbunds for grooms. By the day's end, lucky ticket holders win prizes for a free wedding gown, bridal pictures, and cash. Each bride who attends the Bridal Extravaganza will receive $500 in free Bridal Bucks to spend on select exhibitors or a fairy godmother.
The aestheticians at Esthetiques Skin Spa have all long held an interest in skincare, even dating back to childhood for one pro who gave herself mud-pie facials. While mud is conveniently left off the menu, the team does unfurl Intraceuticals products, glycolic-acid peels, and a Nuface microcurrent toning device to revitalize tired mugs and combat acne, sun spots, and fine lines. They also adorn fresh canvases with spray tans that leave bodies looking bronzed and beautiful.
The team at Rockstar Tan and Spa helps clients to bronze their bodies with a full range of UV- and sunless-tanning machines, along with color-enhancing lotions, moisturizers, and intensifying balms. Modern standup and lie-down beds bake hides to a golden, buttery hue, and the VersaSpa booth spritzes on custom color in fewer than 15 minutes. Body wraps further prep frames for swimsuit or bubble-wrap season by helping to slim physiques and minimize the appearance of cellulite.
Professional aesthetician Santricia Brownlee increases the smoothing effect with an array of waxing services. Thirty-minute French or Brazilian waxes evict fuzz from bikini lines for up to three weeks, and treatments on small areas tend to conclude in a scant 10 minutes.
It’s no coincidence that Salon Bloom’s name makes a reference to nature. The staff relies on certified organic products when styling clients, including organic keratin treatments to make hair sleeker and shinier without chemicals. Aside from their products, the staff is sure to follow environmentally conscious and green practices, such as reusing dulled shears as hair sticks.
More than 20 years ago, Christy Bobo got her start in the hair industry in a little salon. She worked there for a long time, observing the owner's successes and mistakes, formulating a plan on how she might someday run her own business. She got the chance, eventually purchasing the salon where she started and renaming it Salon Be.
To round out her list of services, Christy joins forces with friend and fellow veteran hairstylist Bjorna Brantley, who specializes in cuts and colors. "At Salon Be, all cuts are specialty cuts," Bjorna says. She always consults with clients before touching scissors or foil to make sure they agree on every little detail. When the client arrives for the service, she dives right in, ensuring a succinct visit that fits neatly into busy schedules or temporary lulls in car chases.
