Dedicated instructors at In the Spotlight Dance Center lead burgeoning ballerinas ages 2–18 through class curriculums of classical and modern ballet, lyrical and contemporary dance, and rhythm-boosting sessions in jazz, tap, and hip-hop. Students meet each week to shimmy and shuffle in one-hour sessions, prepping for potential careers as performers or the interpretive dance translator for the United Nations. Young tots can receive a triple threat initiation to dance with a combination class of tap, ballet, and jazz, and advanced dancers have the option of attended accelerated classes in pointe and repertoire.

Pick a spot, invite your friends, and enjoy some drinks while a Champaint instructor helps you create your own personal masterpiece. Champaint curates painting parties onsite—they'll show up to a bar, birthday party, or corporate event and wrestle creativity out of each participant one brushstroke at a time. They offer parties open to the public as well and every event has its own theme—a painting that the group will replicate.

A Champaint instructor will provide canvases, brushes, paints, and easels, as well as the knowledge on the fundamentals of painting as they guide students through recreating the painting. At the end of the night, each attendee will have produced their own 16"x20" masterpiece, which they can take home and hang on their wall or give to their cat as a token of love. Though the class will recreate one single painting, each student's work turns out a unique rendering expressing that student's own personal design motif, technique, and aesthetic vision.

After Teresa Mathias earned her bachelor of fine arts degree, she pursued a career as a special-education teacher, which led to her becoming a school administrator. Although she enjoyed working in education, she would eventually leave it behind to open The Artist In Me, where she could share her passion for art with the entire community. During Teresa's classes, she gives students of all ages and artistic abilities the canvases, paints, and instruction needed to create ready-to-hang paintings, which may include recreations of famous works by Monet and Van Gogh. Students can also sample complimentary wines and doll up canvases during special wine-tasting art classes for adults, or they can gather their friends for a painting party.

Hidden beneath the guise of games and fun activities, hearty doses of musical education lurk within each piano lesson Donna McGlasson teaches. At her studio, Tickle the Ivories, she guides students aged 5 and older through a comprehensive understanding of traditional piano theory, including note reading and proper technique. For adults, she’s also glad to build a course of instruction around learning to play by ear. A carefully selected syllabus of handouts, books, and other learning materials enhances her instruction and help students continue learning on their own after heading home or sneaking on stage at an Elton John concert. In addition to her weekly lessons, McGlasson organizes a recital to showcase the progress of her protégés.
