The certified wellness curators at Total Body Image work to evict freeloading impurities in an effort to prevent ailments including constipation, skin disorders, bloating, and arthritis. They achieve this through detoxifying holistic treatments such as colon-hydrotherapy that clears out the body's pipe works and infrared-sauna sessions that promote perspiration, thus removing toxins through the pores. To achieve healthy skin and appearances, they also use Endermologie technology to tone it and reduce cellulite, as well as a variety of anti-aging products and facial treatments.
As an extension to Jason Bickel’s Blue Chip Strength & Fitness, Blue Chip Yoga Studio demands a high level of excellence from both its staff and its students. During intense yet supportive one-hour classes, the quartet of teachers leads students through a highly aerobic form of Vinyasa yoga that transitions between poses with increased speed and fluidity. Through these power workouts, instructors aim to help clients strengthen muscles, loosen tendons, and improve salutatory etiquette in case of accidental run-ins with the sun.
More than 10 years ago, a young couple dreamed up Titans Gym—a 24-hour facility that would house exercise equipment, tanning services, and a cafe teeming with nutritious snacks. Since then, Geoff and Niki DelGrosso have laid the bricks of that ambition, packing their two gyms with row upon row of advanced Strive, Precor, and Magnum equipment and three levels of professional tanning beds. The duo hired a team of fitness instructors to lead an abundance of group exercise classes, personal-training sessions, and surprise games of Red Rover in their private studios. To refuel exercisers, the onsite Titan Up café serves up a dietician-designed menu of wholesome smoothies, pizzas, and desserts. In the end, the couple's efforts have earned accolades from numerous fitness media publications, and their studios have won the title of Best Urban Gym from Cleveland Scene magazine.
Erica Kovacs leads students through Zumba classes that burn up to 1,000 calories. While trading boring repetitions for an energetic dance-party atmosphere, Zumba marries Latin-style dance moves with international music. Erica teaches three varieties, starting with Zumba Basic for beginners and fans of the original flavor. Zumba Toning participants shake maraca-like weights to add resistance to their shimmies. Alternatively, students dance with chairs during Zumba Sentao. This challenging workout blends dancing with squats that make the chair really jealous.
Jazzercise is 60 minutes of cardio, strength training, and stretching that incorporates moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training with handheld weights. Dancing With the Stars multiple-champion Cheryl Burke is a big fan of Jazzercise's improvisational workouts, though luckily you won't need her dance moves to get the most out of your class. If you're prone to first-class jitters, though, you can review the basic moves online before you go. Expect to burn off up to 500 calories with each go-round.
