More than 10 years ago, a young couple dreamed up Titans Gym—a 24-hour facility that would house exercise equipment, tanning services, and a cafe teeming with nutritious snacks. Since then, Geoff and Niki DelGrosso have laid the bricks of that ambition, packing their two gyms with row upon row of advanced Strive, Precor, and Magnum equipment and three levels of professional tanning beds. The duo hired a team of fitness instructors to lead an abundance of group exercise classes, personal-training sessions, and surprise games of Red Rover in their private studios. To refuel exercisers, the onsite Titan Up café serves up a dietician-designed menu of wholesome smoothies, pizzas, and desserts. In the end, the couple's efforts have earned accolades from numerous fitness media publications, and their studios have won the title of Best Urban Gym from Cleveland Scene magazine.

Fitworks is home to a dedicated cadre of certified muscle architects who guide eager physiques through intense, small group workouts. Peruse the schedule before sampling a tension-undoing yoga class or a weekend-morning muscle-pump session, ideal for prepping for an underwater bench-press that will determine the office's next round of promotions. One-hour Zumba classes harness the rhythmic power of merengue, conga, belly dancing, and more to kill calories while resuscitating sleepy toes. After classes, students can freshen up or flex unused singing muscles in Fitworks' shower facilities.

The Soccer Institute's program director, Mark Mallon, has trained in English and Scottish FA coaching schools and has coached Division I soccer teams at Yale University and the University of California, Berkeley, and he draws on that experience when training youth and teen soccer players. The rest of the coaching team has formidable experience as well?many of the instructors work at collegiate programs throughout the country. This well-versed coaching staff boasts expertise in nearly every area of the sport, from the role of the keeper to the role of the handlers who wrap the keeper back up in the goal netting every night. The Soccer Institute's programs, which include youth soccer clubs and camps for both beginner and elite players, are based in American soccer methodology. But at the same time, they draw from the principles of European soccer schools to give students a well-rounded education in on-field strategy, basic maneuvers, kicking techniques, and an array of other skills.

Joe Corrigan's four daughters were his main source of inspiration when he founded Lake Erie Gymnastics in 1980. He wanted to create a place where kids could have fun while developing as athletes. Now that it's passed into the hands of his children, Lake Erie Gymnastics has grown into a comprehensive training facility for boys and girls aged 2?18, catering to future generations of casual enthusiasts, dedicated competitors, and future superhero sidekicks alike. Certified trainers oversee all of the programs, and instruction consists of age-appropriate exercises and activities designed to introduce fundamentals at a comfortable pace. Whether kids are crawling through tunnels or learning to handle gymnastics equipment such as spring board and balance beams, they're gaining improved strength, stamina, flexibility, and agility. In addition to that, Lake Erie Gymnastics also hopes to instill values of self-discipline and perseverance.

At Willowick Fit Body Bootcamp, the certified personal trainers burn fat without pelting students with intimidation tactics. Instead of shouts, they slenderize students with science, motivating them through workouts designed to keep calorie furnaces burning for up to 30 hours after the workout has been wiped off and wrung into a Corvette’s gas tank. They help their clients achieve these prolonged metabolic crescendos with strategic combinations of cardio exercises and resistance training.

Jazzercise is 60 minutes of cardio, strength training, and stretching that incorporates moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training with handheld weights. Dancing With the Stars multiple-champion Cheryl Burke is a big fan of Jazzercise's improvisational workouts, though luckily you won't need her dance moves to get the most out of your class. If you're prone to first-class jitters, though, you can review the basic moves online before you go. Expect to burn off up to 500 calories with each go-round.
