Aesthetician Suzan Tajer started Ancient Secrets of Beauty in 1991, and over the years, she's specialized in two types of treatments: waxing and Lipomassage. The latter treatment attempts to fight cellulite with vacuum suction and two rollers that fold and unfold the skin. When it comes to waxing, Suzan can shape brows, erase unwanted mustaches, and make arms and legs so smooth and aerodynamic that clients accidentally take flight.
Her true specialty, however, is Brazilian waxing. Suzan saw the trend approaching way back when she opened her salon, and immediately she started developing her own techniques. Today, Suzan's quick Brazilian treatments shun strip waxing techniques in favor of wax that shrink-wraps around the hair as it dries. Her Brazilian waxing techniques have earned her a number of mentions in both local and national magazines, such as Allure and The Premier Seattle Monthly.
The trio of aestheticians at Spa Organic Boosters dedicate themselves to revitalizing clients’ appearances with technologically based procedures and premium skincare products. Their diamond-microdermabrasion treatments and resurfacing facial peels help to conceal blemishes and signs of aging by evening out skin tone. Traditional spa facials rely on botanically derived Éminence Organic Skin Care products, which nourish visages with blends of fresh fruit pulps and spices. Although their waxing services efficiently uproot stubble and leave skin smooth, the staff also offers sugaring treatments as a gentler way to remove hairs or hopelessly lost taste buds.
Shear curtains cascade down the golden, faux marbled walls of Salon La Diva. A marbled black and gray design covers each workstation, where stylists cut, color, curl, and braid hair. The full-service salon's staff also features aesthetician Maryam, who has 20 years of experience clearing dirt from pores and waxing off unwanted facial hair, liver fur, and bikini fuzz.
Izabella Nizovets has been enamored of cosmetology since she was a young girl, which has led her to numerous places. Starting in 1988, she worked in spas and salons in Russia, Italy, and Spain before falling in love with the Pacific Northwest. Here, she worked at a skin and body clinic and spa, garnering experience and training in laser skin care before opening Skin Savvy European Spa in 2005.
Inside Skin Savvy, Izabella treats common epidermal imperfections with facials, peels, and deep pore cleansing. She adds to natural features with synthetic eyelash extensions and makeup applications and subtracts unwanted hair by waxing it away or substituting it for the variable “b” in the quadratic formula.
In the lobby of Helen Wax Spa, a waterfall burbles down an etched glass pane and into a stone basin. The water’s quiet murmur sets the tone for a space that is at once bold and soothing—modern artwork hangs on yellow, orange, and red walls and soft rays of sunlight stream in from floor-to-ceiling windows. Just beyond the main space, Helen and her technicians administer body waxing and facials for both male and female clients. Their specialty treatments use vitamin C to brighten, glycolic acid to exfoliate, and seaweed to calm and soothe the skin. And inside the onsite boutique hair salon, stylists perform cuts, color treatments, and emergency hair extensions for balding Barbie dolls.
