Instructors help kids of all ages develop their mental and physical skills with progressive gymnastic curricula at Pinnacle Gymnastics. There, vaults, bars, beams, and other equipment await students, along with experienced instructors. Classes, camps, and parties encourage young feet to bound across mats and spring off trampolines at a pair of gym locations. Kids can start taking classes at the age of nine months with parents by their side, and can continue through the program to join competitive teams or portray tumbleweeds in school productions of Oklahoma.
For more than 30 years, gymnasts have grown up within Eagles Gymnastics, A Kid's Activity Center. Across the 18,000 sq. ft. facility, instructors work with boys and girls as young as 12 months old, helping them build strength, flexibility, and confidence all the way through high school. Head coach Kim Fuchs and her team have made use of the entire facility, which encompasses trampolines, a foam pit, two spring floors, and other areas. They also run a competitive girls' USAG team. Aside from gymnastics classes, the gym hosts dance classes, birthday parties, and open gym times.
At Flip Zone, kids learn to do more than flips—they learn body awareness, self-confidence, and social skills through a range of fun and energetic activities. In the play center’s rainbow-colored gym, youngsters master somersaults and cartwheels, stride down the balance beam, and tackle other cheerleading and gymnastics fundamentals. The obstacle course layout ensures that kids stay active throughout their classes, whether they're doing reps of a simple exercise or trying a more challenging move, like a handstand in buttered gloves. Youngsters can try out new skills on their own in the center’s open gym sessions and birthday parties, which allow for less structured experimentation with gymnastics.
Zumba classes motivate feet to mobilize with a fun cosmopolitan fusion of Latin beats and other international rhythms. The dance-based aerobics sessions employ a charismatic duo of cardio and resistance training to mentor muscles throughout the body, coaching each one to sleek, sinewy success. Enthusiastic instructors get hearts pumping by strumming gently on their strings to Zumba's characteristically upbeat music. Classes welcome newcomers from every fitness level and meet each Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Saturdays at 9 a.m. After 60 minutes of fast footwork, each Zumba zealot exits with the kind of energy high-cardio sashaying could never achieve.
Having taught gymnastics for two decades, served as a judge to help decide the 2012 Men’s Olympic team, and contributed to establishing gymnastics programs in many schools and gyms, Eric Smith knows gymnastics. At his own facility 360 Gymnastics, he helps gymnasts of all skill levels and ages become flipping and tumbling champions. He keeps his classes small—capped at eight pupils each—and trains students for both recreational and competitive pursuits. Kids can begin their gymnastics journeys at just over 1 year old, if accompanied with a parent or a highly attentive and loyal collie, and continue to hone their skills until age 18. Adult students can take tumbling, and more fitness-focused classes including Zumba and yoga.
