Amanda Martin had her choice of career tracks?the multitalented entrepreneur excels in acting, dancing, modeling, archery, and gymnastics. To take full advantage of her range of skills, she decided to blend her interests into one business, and Beauty and the Ballroom was born. Here, Amanda taps into her background in samba, tango, waltz, and swing to lead classes that impart dance techniques while boosting the self-confidence and self-expression of students of all ages.
For the beauty side of Beauty and the Ballroom, Amanda cleanses skin with organic facials, melts away inches with body wraps, and enhances eyes with eyelash extensions. She also coaxes out inner beauty during hypnotherapy sessions that tackle everything from stage fright to fear of flying over stages full of people with stage fright.
Since 2008, Dance Doctors has been committed to transforming students of all skill levels into confident, capable dancers. Dance Doctors’ professional instructors teach classes at two locations—a dance studio in Surprise and another in Mesa—providing easier access for students who have busy schedules or keep waking up in strange places. Instructors teach waltz, swing, and salsa steps to beginners and experts alike, and they also schedule Zumba dance-fitness classes that are set to upbeat latin music with a BPM of at least 1000.
Fred Astaire Dance Studios' highly experienced instructors instill the subtle elegance of waltzes, fox trots, and tangos into dancing gams. Private introductory lessons school feet in a choice of over 20 styles during sessions, as individuals or couples learn the basics of ballroom dance, dance-floor etiquette, and surgical options available for second left feet. Aside from private sessions, group classes encourage amateur dancers to test out their skills with fellow frolickers during 45 minutes of sashaying and socializing. By the end of their introductory education, students whirl and waltz through the studio's spacious dancing environment with more confidence than the Lord of the Dance at an Irish nightclub.
