Gold’s Gym lures fitness seekers from all walks of life with cardio decks, strength-training equipment, and aerobics rooms filled with energizing classes. Instead of reciting Shakespearean monologues as they jog and pedal, guests can watch movies in a cardio theater lined with treadmills, bikes, and an oversize projection screen. Free weights encourage biceps to bulge, and resistance machines tone arms, abs, and legs. Sports lovers dribble basketballs and volley racquetballs on shiny courts (available at most locations), raising their heart rates as they hone hand-eye coordination. Like the nightly news, Zumba classes take an hour and set Latin-inspired dance moves that vaporize calories to vibrant world music, along with a slew of available selections, including cardio and spin classes. Consult each location’s webpage for a class schedule and a list of additional amenities, which range from childcare to personal training (not included in today’s Groupon).
Julie Johnston founded Boot Camp Las Vegas in 2005, when—after unsuccessfully trying to lose 60 pounds through a battery of exercise techniques—she considered enlisting in the military solely for the physical challenge and camaraderie. Upon reconsideration, she decided to reclaim some turf from the lazy birds in nearby parks and stage her own workouts to build the physical and mental toughness she knew she was capable of developing. Today, a team of instructors—all certified personal trainers who have completed 64 days of boot-camp training—preaches Johnston's program to exercisers of all fitness levels. To help monitor and maximize workouts, they stage weigh-ins, take measurements, perform physical-fitness tests, and dish out a nutrition packet to shed light on healthy eating.

Within each noncompetitive Curves facility, female fitness seekers are invited to move through a 30-minute circuit of hydraulic resistance machines that are designed to promote weight loss, protect against osteoporosis, and deal with arthritis. Shunning cumbersome weight stacks, the hydraulic gadgets adapt to each exerciser's body weight and fitness level to complement her individual abilities, subsequently decreasing the risk of soreness or injury. And because traditional lift-and-lower motions tend to create bulky muscles, the machines promote push-and-pull movements to sculpt toned, lean muscles perfect for crushing unsuspecting grapefruit. Experienced trainers are always nearby to help clients manage their machine maneuvering, and a soundtrack of fun, upbeat music includes cues to let women know when it's time to move on to the next station or break for an air viola solo.

Whether you wish to increase endurance and metabolism or outrun persistent ice-cream trucks, men and women of all ages and abilities can benefit from the tire pulls, hill work, and obstacle courses.
Boredom may be acceptable on the couch, but never in the gym. RAW Fitness instructors animate a dedication to that credo by invigorating students of all skill levels during indoor or outdoor training with their constantly changing boot camps. The team melds traditional exercises, such as light running and resistance training, with unorthodox segments spent crawling and climbing through obstacle courses either solo or teamed up with a partner. But RAW’s fitness system, which targets thighs, glutes, and abs, is only one part of the equation, like a presidential candidate's hair or abs. In addition to their boot-camp routines, trainers lead the Eating for Success nutritional program, which teaches students 12 habits to permanently lose weight.
Gold's Gym began more than 45 years ago, and today features an impressive array of next-generation fitness gadgets, a results-oriented focus, and squeaky-clean facilities. With today's deal, one of Gold's Gym's staff of certified personal trainers will test each client's strength and flexibility, among other metrics, to help determine and design a personalized fitness regimen. Thus inspired, neophyte iron workers can complement their one-on-one sessions with regular attendance at the gym, where they can hop on a cardio machine, pump up in a controlled manner on strength-training machines, tighten up in the abdominal- and functional-stretching area, or stick with lifting huge, heavy pieces of metal and commercial chest freezers.
