With a staff of 150 licensed dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants, Community Smiles conducts dental exams that aim to detect problems early and instruct youth on healthy brushing and eating habits. Examinations can also prevent more serious health conditions caused by cavities and gum disease, such as diabetes, respiratory diseases, and infection. Community Smiles has set the goal to provide free dental examinations for 80 children from low-income families, but the organization requires additional funding in order to complete this goal.

HistoryMiami celebrates Miami's unique legacy with rotating exhibits tracing the area’s history from prehistoric times to the modern day. On the first Wednesday of every month, HistoryMiami throws down an open smorgasbord of live jams, fine wine, and tempting tidbits to flutter the wings of local social butterflies. July's Wine Down Wednesday celebrates the new Aviation in Miami exhibit with a special performance by the Oscar Fuentes Combo, whose poetic, Latin-fused rhythms evoke the history of Florida's skies, from Howard Gill's cardinal flight a century ago to today's majestic herds of domesticated clouds. Imbibe from the open wine and food bar while enjoying access to the museum galleries, outdoor courtyard, and spectral Crockett and Tubbs. Free parking is available at Cultural Parking Garage at 50 Northwest Second Avenue.

Volunteers are currently working on a project to beautify the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami with the goals of helping to instill local pride and revitalize the area. Young people will paint houses, plant flowers, and provide fresh soil and mulch to residents so they can maintain the new landscaping. Many of the Young Heroes volunteers live in the Little Haiti neighborhood themselves, and will be able to see the positive results of their action on a daily basis. Young Heroes needs additional funding to provide supplies for the project, including paint, soil, mulch, and flowers, as well as transportation to and from the service site for volunteers.

As the local outreach arm of the Sierra Club Foundation, Inner City Outings Miami takes youth locked in urban surroundings on excursions into the pristine peace and exciting adventures of a natural environment. Youth aged 8–18 engage in 25–30 day trips every year, which include orienteering, hiking, snorkeling, and canoeing workshops and service projects such as tree planting and beach cleanups. On the trips, young people also learn about natural science, animal ecology, and protecting the environment. Inner City Outings Miami plans trips to locations within a few hours of the city, such as Everglades National Park, the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, and the Koreshan State Historic Site.

As part of the organization's overall goals to bolster these youths' life skills, young people in the mentoring program can attend a daylong event hosted by Playing the Game of Life. Throughout the day, young people participate in a series of healthful-living sessions incorporating cooking lessons, yoga classes, guided meditation, nutritional education, and stress-reduction techniques. Playing the Game of Life's professional instructors use holistic teaching methods to demonstrate and encourage healthful-living habits to participants, and, ideally, will spark ongoing conversations between the youths and their mentors about healthful-living and healthful-eating habits. Mentors will also attend the event, but will cover their own costs.

A nationally sourced all-star roster of professional singers, Seraphic Fire weaves complex vocals and dynamic performance into a shimmering audio-visual tapestry. Their popular Christmas program features English, Spanish, and American carols, sung with classical poise and seasonally appropriate gusto. Patrons can fill their ears amidst flickering candlelight, and enjoy sweeter sounds than those produced by well-intentioned but atonal door-to-door carolers and traveling reindeer choirs.
