White River Paintball boasts 12 different paintball fields that sprawl out across more than 100 acres of playing area. One paintball battle site is the 15,000-square-foot indoor arena that's populated with air-filled obstacles, such as tanks, humvees, and oil drums.
The outdoor arenas include the Airstrip, which contains a real Sikorsky helicopter that flew in Vietnam, and the urban-style Back Alley, with seven buildings to duck behind and cars littering the ground. The Jungle provides a more organic setting with its natural bunkers, towering trees, and uneven terrain. It's perfect for old-school games or testing out a homemade bush costume.
Both the arena and the 11 outdoor fields are open year-round, even in the winter.
BlastZone Paintball's 20 acres of outdoor playfields incorporate the area's dense trees and open fields. Across six wooded courses, fallen branches, trails, and leaves set the stage for stealthy play, and a speedball field fosters quicker games. As colorful barrages fly, BlastZone's safety equipment absorbs the shots and protects the body from welts or hail damage. Away from the paint-covered battlefield, certified techs man an on-site gear shop. A free-to-use grill cooks up visitors' brought-from-home eats, which they can nibble at a covered picnic area.
Close-combat guerilla paintball matches lob combatants into a woodland field or speedball course for fast-paced war games supervised by trained referees. In the woodsball field, soldiers slide behind some 130 bunkers, ducking under branches and leaping over fallen logs while dodging fire and infiltrating a two-story wooden fort. Referees oversee various forms of gameplay—from standard single or double elimination bouts—to more tactical scenarios such as capture the flag, medic, predator, or marines vs. aliens.
Flushed from his position, a player dashes from behind a tree and toward a bridge. Just as he reaches the opposite side, he hears "Dead man!" as an opponent pops up from underneath. Paintball Country's outdoor fields?which include an air ball field, six speedball fields, and five woods fields?present combatants with loads of such tactic-testing terrain. As referees maintain house rules to keep players safe, teams navigate obstacles such as two-story tower buildings, upturned cable spools, and corrugated tubing. Between firefights, Paintball Country's staff serves refreshments such as pizza, nachos, and victory-flavored energy drinks. An onsite pro shop also caters to guests with advice and equipment sales.

Leave civilian life behind and suit up for three hours of extreme high-octane battles to determine whose clothes are the cleanest. Land Paintball provides all the necessities (a $17 value for rental package), including a mask, a marker, an air tank (with enough air to last the day), a hopper, a barrel sleeve, and 100 paintballs (a $5 value)—enough to apply a healthy base coat to any nearby corpus canvas. In the event that you take down 100 opponents with immaculate accuracy, or if you decide to graffiti your name on a nearby tree trunk, additional paintballs may be purchased on-site.
