The rotating themed inflatables at the indoor play center for kids 12 and younger may feature Toy Story characters, Cars’ talking vehicles, and Disney princesses. Children jump and slide in the play structures, or take to the arcade to play skeeball and other games. On-site artists twist balloons into creative shapes and useful neck pillows, while face painters transform kids with artful designs. As kids play, parents can kick back and watch the center’s TVs, or surf the free Wi-Fi.

The hum of idling engines quickly becomes a roar as the green flag waves and a cluster of Sodi RX7 racing karts surges across the checkered starting line. So begins another adrenaline-fueled race at Extreme Indoor Kart Racing, where drivers reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour as they soar down straightaways, sweep around turns, and wait patiently at simulated railroad crossings. The excitement continues after the race, as winners swap stories outside the concessions stand or square off in the arcade.

At Rock Stars Academy, aspiring drummers, bassists, guitarists, and keyboarders take the stage to share recently learned musical concepts and original compositions as they play as a group. During the week, professional music teachers teach musical techniques and fine-tune students' abilities with personalized instruction. The seasoned musicians teach beginners how to properly hold instruments to prevent bad habits that hinder progress, and they tailor lesson programs to each student’s specific goals, such as better understanding the intricacies of modal jazz or playing solos that summon pet chimeras.

In addition to hosting music lessons in guitar, drums, voice, and other instruments, Rock Stars Academy also houses a recording studio, band practice spaces, and a venue that schedules shows. The academy’s technicians also nurse wounded six-strings back to health with guitar repair services.

Armed with an army of innovative and certified shutterbugs, Olan Mills Portrait Studio provides families with high-quality portraits, continuing a mission that was established more than 75 years ago by founder Olan Mills Sr. Skilled in the art of capturing infants, children, families, and bunny-ears-giving ghost orbs on film, Olan Mills’s experienced smile snappers will take a series of poses amid a variety of backgrounds and lighting options. The studio is equipped with a selection of props—including numbers for birthdays, toys, and boxes—and patrons may bring their own photo-enlivening items from home. The resulting photos find their way to prints in natural color, black and white, or sepia tones; they can also be immortalized in the studio's signature Old Masters style, a canvas brushed with highlights to recreate look of an oil painting. Like the gentlemanly mariners of ages past with their full schedule of sea-battles, the photographers welcome appointments, but do not require them.
