It’s tempting to say that Beauty Couture Studio Salon’s owner, Amy Ward, is a one-woman show. That wouldn’t do justice to the women she beautifies day in and day out, though. She takes care of her clients’ every need in her private studio, from pouring them a cold beverage to delicately affixing hair or NovaLash extensions. She rouges cheeks and coats nails with long-lasting layers of Gelish polish, sometimes working in glitter or unique floral shapes, animal prints, or tiny portraits of the client’s 10 favorite presidents. She also, of course, performs the traditional tasks of a salon artist, trimming, conditioning, and highlighting hair.
Sungum Salon's skincare professionals rejuvenate epidermises with treatments culled from time-honored methods and resources such as ancient Indian therapeutic techniques and Ayurvedic herbs. Their face-care services range from microdermabrasion and facial masks to steams and glycolic peels, whose ingredients—naturally extracted sugar cane, sugar beets, and raw grapes—exfoliate skin while diminishing wrinkles and acne scars. For the rest of the body, an exotic fruit or oatmeal-honey scrub exfoliates skin more effectively than lining your trousers with coarse-grain sandpaper. Sungum Salon's full-body treatments also include a seaweed-and-French-clay wrap, which infuses skin with nutrients, and henna sessions that adorn hands, feet, or backs with temporary ornate designs.
Each of Tangerine Salons' four locations operate under a charitable ethos and the nature-based tenants of Aveda. Aveda's environmentally conscious, naturally derived products infuse all of Tangerine's salon services. Seven tiers of hairstylists—ranging from Protégé I to Master III—handle the hairstyling duties by snipping, highlighting, and conditioning locks. At the Coppell and Cedar Hill locations, the staff dedicates space to an array of spa services, including massages, facial treatments, mani-pedis, and back facials that help eliminate crow's feet on people with eyes in the back of their heads.
