The staff at Star Brite Dry Cleaners restores sullied wardrobes to wearable condition with dry cleaning, wet cleaning, and tailoring services. Although they specialize in couture clothing, they treat all garments with the same care they show Prada dresses, Burberry suits, and the Monopoly man's top hat collection. They can even repair garments damaged by fire, water, or mold. Besides dry cleaning, they also use gentle and eco-friendly wet cleaning methods to cleanse delicate fabrics such as silk, wool, suede, and leather.
From 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, the streets of Fell's Point come alive as crawlers hop from pub to pub, enjoying specials on food and festive drinks such as Absolut masquerade punch and Malibu hurricanes. A commemorative button, which can be picked up at Woody’s Rum Bar starting at 6 p.m. the night of the crawl, unlocks the special prices at each location. Each crawler also receives a map that shows the locations of all 15 participating pubs—including The Greene Turtle, Kooper's Tavern, and The Wharf Rat—ensuring they find each venue without having to spend all their doubloons on a GPS.
The crawl is one of the many events hosted by Fell's Point Main Street, an organization dedicated to revitalizing local commercial and historical areas.
The University of Maryland administers low-cost legal services to the local community through its JustAdvice program. Since its inception, JustAdvice has served more than 1,300 people in a range of legal areas including family, criminal, employment, tax, and social-security law. It holds 30-minute sessions twice weekly, where clients can speak with experienced attorneys to gain a clearer understanding of their circumstances and options for action. Each session typically draws about 20 clients, and the organization charges $10 per session to cover the costs of office supplies, technological resources, equipment, and refreshments. Though JustAdvice cannot provide ongoing legal services to clients, staff attorneys can recommend alternative routes for people to find counsel.
