The Bowling Classic hosted by Haruki Nakamura and other Ravens players gives football fans the chance to meet up to six players while bowling for a charitable cause. Attendees talk football and strategize cross-lane tackles as they bowl, wander, and mingle with Haruki, who will spend time at each lane alongside Ravens players and fans. Guests can compare an 8"x10" signed photo to Nakamura's actual likeness as they bid in a silent auction or enter raffles to win Ravens memorabilia and tickets. The winning team will receive a basket of autographed Ravens items, which they can hoist overhead or spike to the ground in victory. Bowlers can whet whistles and toast to big-league dreams at the full bar or nosh on concessions available from area vendors. Part of the event's proceeds will be donated to a charity of Haruki's choice.
The volunteer-based school banks on the enthusiasm and passion of its dedicated instructors. Calligraphy and paintings line the wall space of the spirited studio. Its Tai Chi program also emphasizes the Tien Shan Pai motto, "Virtue, Wisdom, Humility, Martial Arts," and is suited for students of all age and skill levels. At Dance and Artistic Expression Studio, founder Tabitha Hitchye-Holliday and her staff lead dance lessons in the styles of salsa, bachata, and ballet, as well as fitness programs such as Zumba. Ballet students learn the basic feet and arm positions of classical ballet and practice moves at the barre, while Zumba students burn calories through high energy movements inspired by an array of dance styles, such as salsa and merengue.
To ensure students look their best while dancing, staffers vend performance wares within an attached boutique. Not limited to just dance, students can partake in an array of cultural provisions, including classes in sewing, arts & crafts, tap, jazz, and barre fitness.

?A lot of players look at the card and think because it?s short that they?re going to play their all-time best round of golf and end up spending a lot of time in the woods,? says head professional Joan Lovelace of the course at Fairway Hills Golf Club. The Ron Pritchard?designed course ?which stays neatly within the bounds of 6,158 yards?doesn?t just get its bite from the woodlands about which Lovelace warns. Water comes into play on 12 of the 18 holes, and the second fairway?s wicked dogleg right and stream-guarded bentgrass green costars with collarless shirts in many golfers? nightmares. The links wind down with a hope-inspiring 18th hole, where golfers with the right mix of skill and luck can make a birdie.
Adjacent to the course?s bermuda-grass fairways, the club?s practice facilities invite players to demolish buckets of balls at a turf range, cleat across a chipping area, or practice whipping a putter out of its holster and twirling it around their thumb. Lessons with the club?s PGA professionals are also available to help hone games.
