The eponymous shuttersnapper at Laura Couture Photography captures candid moments of tykes and transforms them into snazzy portraits and prints. Like a sundial wristwatch, the dedicated photographer works with only 100% natural light, expertly nabbing the pure, unadulterated bliss of childhood with sunlit flair. Each on-location session lasts approximately 60 minutes, with an unlimited fount of precious images captured in each shoot. Within four weeks, customers receive an email containing a link, password, and secret knock allowing access to an online gallery of the results. Once they pick out their four favorite slices of life, doting parents receive a high-quality set of prints (within 3–4 weeks), along with a pair of digital images to show off to adoring robot nannies.
At the annual Das Oktoberfest block party, friends and families converse over brats, hot dogs, and drinks with the peace of mind that proceeds benefit Hunger Task Force. Festival-goers gather in the Mader's parking lot at 11 a.m. for the kid-friendly, pet-friendly Brat Trot, where competitors don complimentary Oktoberfest hats before beginning the race. Trot participants then ring in the festival with a grueling 1.5-block walk, run, or ride on a giant Slinky to Pere Marquette Park. Each attendee makes the trek with a complimentary 12-ounce Oktoberfest beer or soda in one hand, accompanying a free Usinger brat or hot dog in the other. Once at the park, participants partake in a communal jubilee. Prior to the race, athletes can also compete for prizes in a contest for best costumed individual and team, or duke it out in a pig Latin spelling bee.

The writers at Milwaukee Magazine mine cultural gems and scoop political stories each month to reflect the city's lifestyle and current events in 12 glossy issues. Subscribers join a community of 225,000 readers, who vicariously interview local celebrities and innovators and explore Milwaukee's boutiques and underwater speakeasies through the magazine's pages. Readertainment is aggregated annually in the City Guide and the Best of Milwaukee, a roundup that clearly distinguishes the lakefront's elite establishments. In addition to printed matter, Milwaukee Magazine is published online, where an event calendar and a blog roll herald potential trades for the Milwaukee Brewers, dispatches from the pressroom, and discoveries of fossilized bobby socks excavated from the Happy Days set.
