Here at Family & Cosmetic Gentle Dentistry LTD, we believe in dentistry that lasts a lifetime. We have designed this site to help answer your questions about the services we provide, educate our patients, and to let you know about anything new in our office or in the field of dentistry.
Lots of people never want to leave college, but few actually get the chance to stay. Dr. Steven B. Means counts himself among these lucky few; after graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1977, he moved in to an office located right on campus. Though he’s now an expert in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, Dr. Means has taken advantage of his collegiate surroundings to continually educate himself in those fields. He has joined forces with Dr. Sherif Said, who is an alumnus of Ain Shams University's School of Dentistry in Cairo, a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and has practiced dentistry for over eight years.
Whether they're filling cavities with tooth-colored composites, installing dental implants, or performing a routine cleaning, the two doctors keep their patients informed and encourages them to ask questions. It’s all part of making them feel as comfortable as possible—as is their use of nitrous oxide to calm jittery nerves. Their expertise also extends to treating gum disease and customizing mouth guards for people who unconsciously chew on their arms while asleep.
The Dental Emergency Room's team of doctors and dental assistants foster a gentle, stress-free environment in their state-of-the-art office. While always happy to help with emergency care, the team advocates regular exams to catch dental problems while they remain small and treatable. When aesthetic reconstruction is in order, they bolster smiles with services such as dental crowns, bridges, and implants. The staff further spoils their patients with seven-day-a-week appointment times and extended evening hours Monday–Thursday, ideal for busy professionals and vampires with toothaches.
At Twin Cities Dental’s locations in Champlin and St. Anthony, the staff and doctors work hard to accommodate busy schedules with evening and Saturday appointments. They compliment those efforts with services accomplished using the latest technology such as digital x-rays, which provide more comprehensive views of teeth while limiting exposure to radiation.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota Dental School in 2006, Dr. Max Barsky didn't rest on his laurels. Instead, he extended his education by five years, taking post-graduate courses in aesthetic dentistry. That extra training gave him insight that now helps many of his patients, including knowledge of how the appearance of teeth relates to the overall shape of the face. That's just one of the extra ways Dr. Barksy attends to his patients and is always part of his thinking when he's performing checkups, installing implants, fitting braces, and figuring out who took a bite of his sandwich.
Twin Cities native Dr. Wallace Lunden continued his dental education after graduating as a DDS from the University of Minnesota, and he actively participates in dental organizations like the Academy for the Study of Dental Occlusion, the American Dental Society, and the Minnesota Dental Society. He tends to teeth with a full range of general and cosmetic dentistry services. In addition to preventing cavities with cleanings, the doctor specializes in keeping evidence of dental work a secret. He spruces up smiles with porcelain veneers, fits teeth with natural-looking ceramic crowns, and replaces conspicuous metal amalgam with tooth-colored composite material. He also applies Invisalign and ClearCorrect braces that stay out of sight like teenagers at family functions as they guide teeth toward healthier positions. Dr. Lunden runs a family practice, and he loves kids; he himself has four children, four grandchildren, and a wife who teaches kindergarten.
