After a career spent performing with Enrique Iglesias and as a principal dancer for Walt Disney World, Andrea Rogers created the Xtend Barre workout to weave her passion for dance into her life as a Pilates instructor. Her workouts—which consist of cardio-based rhythm moves with core-strengthening Pilates routines—caught on and spread internationally, reaching Stephanie Grauer, who opened the Mission Viejo location. Worn out from her time as a competitive runner, Stephanie realized that the exercise combination strengthened her joints, enhanced her flexibility, and improved her mobility. She soon became certified in the method and outfitted her studio with a host of instructors who lead 32 classes a week within the sunny, wood-floored space. The instructors spend each 55-minute workout demonstrating moves that use medicine balls and ballet barres, offering hands-on adjustments and modifications to suit pregnant women, beginners, or more advanced students with three legs.
