  • Absolut Desi Bar & Grill
Absolut Desi Bar & Grill makes a point that’s hard to argue with: “India is thousands of miles away. We are around the corner.” Along with their convenient location, they tempt adventurous diners with what they claim are the biggest dosas in town. They make 15 different versions of the street-food style pancakes, which can be rolled around anything from vegetable masala to butter chicken to silverware. The rest of the menu is a tasty balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, beginning with appetizers that include both crispy fried dumplings and cheese pakora. There are also 14 different curries and a selection of clay-oven entrees such as tandoori fish and lamb seekh kababs. After undergoing a complete renovation in January 2013, the eatery welcomes patrons into both a dining room and a lounge area complete with flat-screen TVs and a sound system.

Our food menu is usually kept small and simple, as we try our best to maintain a good food-quality standard. Although we are a relatively new place, we are well known for our shishas, and our focus remains on innovation with regard to our shisha flavours and mixes. Our shisha menu is extensive and enjoyed by all our customers. What?s the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a customer? We usually have a quick chat with our customers as they pay and leave. During this time, we ask our customers if they enjoyed our service and if the drinks, shisha, and food was up to par. The best answer we've gotten in the past goes something like this, "Your shisha was fantastic. It's definitely the best shisha in town, and I'm going to be coming back here every week my friends."

  • Mr. India Grocers
Ten years ago, Mr. India Grocers was a just a small, but well-loved grocery store serving the food needs of South Asian expats. But one day, the owners were struck with an idea: why not offer harder-to-find Bollywood movie rentals alongside food items? The idea was an instant success with customers. Soon, people shopping for ingredients for chicken tikka masala or a veggie biryani would also be seen picking up a Bollywood flick or 12 on their way out. The gain in popularity not only caused the store to expand to a larger location, but soon a second, larger outpost was opened on Grand Park Drive. That growth has let Mr. India Grocers better serve the needs of their customers, allowing them to offer a wider selection of Indian goods and more exotic fruits from India. They have also opened a new haveli-style kitchen (a traditional Indian take-out area) at the Grand Park Drive location, where chefs serve up hot cups of masala chai alongside dishes such as lamb curry and buttery wads of naan. Each meal they make is designed to be eaten on the go, subbed in for dinner at home, or kept at one?s bedside to induce passionate food dreams.
