The experienced staff at POWER trains athletes of all ages at three Central Valley locations. Boot camp classes get grown-ups fit with thrice-weekly workouts designed to help them reach fitness goals. Participants bring hand weights to each session, and leave with instructions for at-home workouts for days off. Meanwhile, across padded floors and rows of trampolines, kids and teenagers in cheerleading classes tumble and spring their way to pep-rally mastery. Lead by USASF-certified instructors, each class focuses on team-energizing spirit and nurtures the dedication, commitment, and level of fitness that cheerleading requires. Whether practicing cheers or building human pyramids to astonish archeologists, students learn gymnastics skills that boost both strength and flexibility, readying them for school functions and competitions.

At Paramount Tumbling & AcroGymnastics, children bound and tumble across the brightly colored mats, bounce on trampolines, and flip around parallel bars. But kids don't have to be aspiring gold-medal winners to join in on the fun. Here, the coaches focus on helping wee ones to develop motor skills and an appetite for fitness through positive reenforcement, while also teaching them gymnastics techniques. They lead programs for children of all ages, starting with preschoolers, that focus on having fun while learning tumbling skills, bar routines, and acrobatic moves.

In addition to classes, the expansive gym hosts open-gym sessions, which give little ones free reign to caper about all the equipment. They also welcome birthday parties and lead summer camps, which teach children to flip with or without the birthday-cake sugar boost.

Gym-Fit, yoga, hip-hop, cheer, ballet, music, and art round out the roster of classes, which is more jam-packed with activities than Leonardo da Vinci’s secret lab, where to this day he still writes software applications to teach children art lessons.

In 1976, educator, musician, and kinesiologist Robin Wes longed for a children's gym that prioritized personal growth over competition. Unveiled at a time when physical-education classes pushed students to focus almost exclusively on winning, Robin's program was swiftly adopted and is now used in more than 300 Little Gyms worldwide. Robin still pens original music to accompany lessons, which engage whippersnappers aged 4 months to 12 years with gymnastics, dance, karate, and parent and child activities.

Each of The Little Gym's classes introduces simple movements that sharpen motor skills and set brains whirring, allowing kids to progress at their own pace until they can finally build a computer out of macaroni and glitter. Staff members strive to build a base for lifelong social skills and self-assurance with each exercise, including activities rooted purely in fun, such as summer camps or birthday parties, which helped The Little Gym to earn title of #1 Birthday Chain in Parents Magazine.

Blossom Valley Tumbling's founder and head coach Donny Mozzetti first got his start in the competitive cheer world when he joined his high school's squad. Now, 18 years later, he continues to pass on his experience and love for tumbling and stunt feats. Mozzetti and the rest of his staff lead tiered classes that start from basic flexibility and balance before moving step by step to advanced techniques such as running handsprings and high-flying stunts and cradles. Open-gym time and team rentals give cheer practitioners the chance to practice in a state-of-the-art facility.
