At Tiger Kwon’s Martial Arts, aspiring fighters have the unique opportunity to learn a martial art directly from its founder. Grandmaster Kwon, a ninth-degree black belt with more than 68 years of experience, combined elements of tae kwon do, hapkido, and kickboxing to create his own system—Kwon Mu Do—which he teaches alongside a team of fellow instructors. Other classes offered at the studio include Zumba dance fitness and Turbo Kick cardio kickboxing.
Tucked away in the wooded enclave of Mokena, Willow Run Golf Course invites duffer duos to linger over its nine holes of mature, tree-lined fairways. Seated behind the wheel of an electronically powered golf steed, golfers can jet from hole to hole, making sure to pop a wheelie in greeting fellow linksmen to ensure proper etiquette. Putter in hand, pairs of golfers can descend on Willow Run's array of demanding holes, with variable yardages ranging from 120 to 520, and scheme their way around multiple sand pits and two ball-hungry water hazards. After taming the 2,930 yards of green-graced canvas and then repeating the 9-hole course to play a full 18, sated sportsmen and women can sashay over to the Willow Run lounge for post-game drinks or stick around for the pro shop's after-hours craft class for making personalized terra-cotta golf tees.
Attend classes at Randori Jiu-Jitsu and you'll be learning from instructors with impressive resumes. Half of the studio’s staff holds a black belt in either Brazilian jiu jitsu or judo, and one member, Leandro Valdes, actually holds both. The team also includes professional MMA fighter Bobby “The Wolfman” Moffett and ISSA-certified Master Trainer Michael Milani. Together, these seasoned instructors share their knowledge of Brazilian jiu jitsu, mixed martial arts, judo, baking a bundt cake that won't get stuck in the pan, and kickboxing during classes at their studio, which is accredited by the North American Grappling Association.
