Devan Kline was a pitcher in the minor leagues for the San Francisco Giants, focusing his attention on making it to the majors when another career opportunity blindsided him. In the summers of 2009 and 2010, he began helping Vanessa?the mother of the host family he lived with during home games?train to get back on shape. Devan witnessed firsthand her rapid transformation as she lost 45 pounds, and he saw the positive impact it had on her and her family's lives. The grateful clan told Devan that his time with them had changed their lives, and it?s then that he knew he wanted to dedicate himself to helping others in the same way. That?s when he founded Burn Boot Camp.
Now, Devan?with the help of a coterie of trainers?conducts indoor boot camps in six locations, using exercises that Devan himself used to get into shape during his days as a professional athlete. The team supplements those regimens with loads of body-weight-resistance training and heart-pounding cardio drills that include sprinting short distances.

Staffed by National Windshield Repair Association technicians, TNT Auto Glass restores scathed windshields with their lifetime-guaranteed glass-repair services. The crew welcome vehicles into their garages in Mooresville, Concord, and Denver to dole out free estimates, patch up small chips and cracks, and replace entire windows and windshields. They also travel directly to driveways for vehicles that, like a teenage girl after a breakup, are too damaged to move.
There’s a sense of presentation that permeates Hanayuki Japanese Restaurant. The bright orange and red colors and geometric shapes that inform the decor are almost plates of sushi writ large—colorful fish arranged with flair sit next to rolls drizzled with zigzagging lines of eel sauce. Dragon rolls contain tempura shrimp topped with eel and avocado, whereas spicy-tuna rolls are packed with tuna, cucumber, and spicy sauces. In addition to sushi, chefs grill entrees featuring both seafood and chicken or beef. They coat teriyaki chicken and steak in sauces made from scratch and mingle shrimp, scallops, and chicken with rice or soba noodles. Amid the elegant trappings of the eatery—wood trim wraps its way around plush booths and flat-screen TVs embedded in walls, and backless shelves offer glimpses of other dining areas—servers deliver consistently friendly interactions along with the beautifully presented food.
