Spitball technology has come a long way since its invention in 1982. Initially a spitball was made of saliva-soaked paper and propelled by the combination of an empty pen and breath. In 1999, an important discovery irrevocably altered the spitball landscape. Now spitballs are shot with semi-automatic CO2-powered weapons instead of empty pens. And due to the increasing concern for deforestation, spitballs are made out of a more renewable resource: thin-skinned, paint-filled gel caps. Check out the enormous advancements in spitballs at Action Paintball Park with today’s Groupon.

Q&A with the President of Golden State Gymnastics

I'm a first-timer. How do you get me ready for the experience?
We send a welcome and information email that details how to register online, how to e-sign our waiver form, and what to wear and bring. We advise people to arrive in time to find parking.

As the old adage says, "Stuff happens." What training do you and your staff have to stay ahead of the unexpected?
All staff members are CPR/First Aid and USA Gymnastics Safety Certified, as well as fingerprinted and background checked. Staff members attend regional and national level training. We have a disaster plan in place and conduct periodic disaster drills on site so that we are prepared for emergencies.

What is the experience customers can expect, and how do you make it special?
Our mission is to offer a fun, safe and healthy gymnastics experience by providing the highest quality instruction and encouraging atmosphere to every child who walks through our doors. We want your child's favorite day of the week to be at Golden State Gymnastics. A highlight of the week is the inflatable water slide during water play. This year, the slide is scheduled for two days each week!

Cleaved between the Pacific Ocean and the foothills of Santa Ynez Mountain, Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club is among the oldest polo facilities in the U.S. The Club was established in 1911 and quickly became a focal point of competition and social interaction. In fact, by the 1920s, spending Sunday at the club had already become a celebrated social event. Visitors would don the latest fashions and picnic at the fields, some even hiring helpers to assist with the noonday meal and deliver jokes during intermission.

Although some conventions have changed, the club retains its reputation as an elegant destination to enjoy the “Sport of Kings.” It features a trio of world-renowned polo fields, plus eight tennis courts, a fitness center, and a pool for recreational use. The club still draws some of society’s most noble figures, too—Prince William and Catherine visited during 2011, a trip that saw Prince William compete in a charitable match.

The story of the Los Angeles Dodgers begins in 1884 in Brooklyn, New York, where the team tried out such names as the Bridegrooms, the Superbas, and the Robins before finally settling on the Dodgers in 1932. A scant 15 years later, the club played a vital role in the American civil-rights movement, as Jackie Robinson became the first African American to don a Major League uniform. When Robinson retired after the 1956 season, players such as Don Drysdale and Duke Snider picked up the torch and, along with owner Walter O'Malley, led the team on a cross-country move to Los Angeles in 1958. The club settled into its new home four years later, erecting the stadium in which it's since won four World Series titles. Unlike most modern fields, which use giant green screens to appear surrounded by city skylines, Dodger Stadium sits in the shadow of the real San Gabriel Mountains, and the 56,000-seat ballpark was selected by MLB players as the best stadium in baseball in a 2003 Sports Illustrated poll.

USC's student athletes have a proud history of winning, and not just in collegiate sports. They also dominate in international competition at the highest level. Since the Trojans sent their first athlete to the Summer Games in 1904, they've won 587 medals, including at least one gold medal in every Games since 1912. If USC were its own country, it would have the 16th-most medals of any nation, but still no standing army to defend the podium from jealous fourth-place finishers.

Trojans' accolades at home are just as impressive. The football team commands an all-time record above .700, winning more than 30 bowl games and as many conference championships. All in all, USC teams have won 97 men's national titles and 25 women's, more than all but two other schools in the country.
