The classes at Agoura Fitness blur the line between dancing, exercising, and rehearsing jabs in the boxing ring. Instructors lead a wide variety of courses designed to burn calories, many of which are set to upbeat music. Zumba routines pull from Latin dance styles for a cardio workout, whereas TaeRobics sync martial arts drills with energizing beats. Yoga classes take a slower approach to wellness with balanced poses and stretches. Other classes on the curriculum include boot camp, interval training, boxing, and Extreme Cycling—a better way to make stationary biking fun than repeatedly asking "are we there yet?"

The gym is also stocked with free weights and cardio equipment, and visitors can take advantage of these with the help of a personal trainer, or during solo workouts as early as 4:30 a.m. on weekdays.

Q&A with Jeanette, Owner/Personal Trainer

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?

We have a knowledgeable, talented, and motivated team of Instructors that are here to guide you in reaching your health and wellness goal. We have a variety of classes to keep you going and provide the body a challenging yet fun full-body workout every time. We are a fitness family that holds one another accountable and provides support and encouragement throughout your journey. Once you join, the addiction to exercise and feeling your best will keep you coming back for more...and we are waiting for you.

What's the most radical physical transformation you've seen a client make?

I have had clients transform not only physically but mentally and emotionally, and [some have] beat illness through exercise and nutrition. We have had a significant drop in weight and body fat in both men and women who have been committed and stuck to our program. Every one is different ... we specialize in personalized service and keep you accountable and on track. We are not focused on the number on the scale?we are focused on sharing our knowledge that this is a lifestyle, not a fad. We push for natural decreases in weight and body fat through hard work and commitment. There are no shortcuts, this is your body, and to learn how to make it work at it's natural potential is what we provide. You will see increased stamina, endurance, self-confidence, weight loss, body-fat reduction, drops in clothing sizes, strength, flexibility, and more. Who doesn't want to feel the best they have ever felt?

Do you run your gym according to a particular exercise philosophy?

We want your experience to be fun yet challenging. We want you to leave knowing that you gave your all and you were pushed to your own limits. This is not a competition; this is a safe zone for all fitness levels and genders to come and work hard in an environment full of support, encouragement, and high energy. We are a TEAM, and when one succeeds, we all succeed.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?

We have a 5000-square-foot facility that is beautifully set up for a comfortable environment with a variety of classes, knowledgeable instructors/trainers, and a group of encouraging and supportive people. Our main goal is share our paths with those who are looking to seek their best self physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You will find that challenge here, the only one holding you back would be yourself. Come get the tools to change your life.

Competitive bodybuilder, personal trainer, fitness model, and life coach are just a few of the hats that the trainers at Social Workout Studio wear. The bona fide fitness gurus include also a nutrition counselor, as well as a weight-loss counselor. Their talents collide during personal and group training sessions at the studio. Group classes max out at six students to ensure personal attention.

At Coolhotyoga, the instructors teach yoga classes in both hot and cool rooms, of course, but they do much more to help their clients build muscle and burn fat. They also defy science in their anti-gravity yoga series, in which guests strike yoga poses in midair in ceiling-suspended hammocks that support the body while coaxing deeper stretches. On the cardio end of things, they offer both Piloxing?a blend of Pilates and boxing?and Booty Barre?which combine ballet's core-strengthening exercises with light weightlifting, such as picking up the nearest ballerina.
