Dragon Pearl Tea is grown organically in a fashion similar to techniques used for thousands of years, sustaining the ancient traditions of tea farming and culture in the Fujian Mountians. No chemicals are ever used in growing and processesing the tea.
From the street, Valley Grind's appearance hearkens back to the Wild West, its double doors and long, covered porch reminiscent of an old general store. Inside, paneled pine walls surround large wooden tables and an overstuffed leather sofa, and the sound of an espresso machine whirrs as baristas plunge the steam wand into a pitcher of milk. Foamy cappuccinos and flavored lattes only begin the menu, however. The team also blends fresh fruit into smoothies and layers bagels with cream cheese, veggies, and meats. In Valley Grind’s adjoining shop, patrons can pick up cute gifts such as candies, cards, hand towels, and other towels that only work on forearms.
Natural sunlight floods the interior of Shell Beach Salon & Spa, helping to create the illusion of a seaside resort. Even so, guests might notice a conspicuous absence of sand and sharp seashells as they make their way past stylists clipping and coloring hair at six stations. The spa’s aestheticians nixed those skin-damaging elements of decor, and their passion for healthy skin also compels them to cleanse and hydrate complexions with professional GlyMed products. Whether you choose to indulge in a facial, a mani-pedi, or one of nine massages, the spa’s private rooms ensure a relaxing session.
The family run staff at Flavors Restaurant divides time between a brick-and-mortar eatery in Buellton and a roving food truck, proffering quick-fire American fare made with fresh ingredients. The house specialties, classic tri-tip sandwiches, boast five distinct styles, each with their own toppings—such as chipotle mayo, swiss cheese, and avocado—and career ambitions. Inside the restaurant's cozy, rust-colored dining room, a handwritten chalkboard displays the oft-changing menu of house-made soups, sandwiches, and Nathan's hot dogs.As of March 2012, Flavors has closed its restaurant and now operates solely as a food truck. Find the family stacking their signature sandwiches at the Zaca Mesa Winery on Saturdays, between 12 p.m.–4 p.m.
