For Salon Dion's stylists, knowledge is power. From following trends around the globe to seeking out new training and techniques, their everlasting quest to expand their skills has resulted in work at New York Fashion Week and the Miss Michigan pageant, as well as various television appearances and photo shoots. But they primarily use their talents on clients seated at the salon’s BlowDry Bar. Here, they check scalp conditions, then address any problems with treatments tailored to each customer. The team's expertise also extends to chic haircuts, current color trends, customized facials, bridal services, and expert waxing designed to provide brows with the exact amount of arch needed to play a supervillain.
At Crave's eco-friendly studio, the staff redesigns nails and bodies—either permanently or temporarily—with nailcare, tattoos, and makeup services. During manicures and pedicures, the technicians can use gel products for minimized odors and easier breathing, particularly apt for clients trying to see if their new tattoo of an ice-cream sundae works double-time as a scratch 'n' sniff.

Do you agree with the phrase "beauty is on the inside?" Why or why not?
Yes, but massage is a beneficial mind, body, and soul experience. It helps improve both mental and physical conditions.
What's the most common beauty mistake you see people make? What would you recommend they do instead?
People tend to have bad posture, poor flexibility, stress, and overworked muscles causing aches and pains. Massage helps to improve all of these important factors in living a healthy, stress-free life.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
I am a Michigan State licensed massage therapist. My clients can choose from three different types of massages: Swedish, deep-tissue, and sports massage. Within these, there are various techniques used to tailor the massage to each client's health needs. Soothing music, a heated table, and a heating pack are also included.
The current Chaos Studio Salon was a labor of love. In 2012, Jennifer realized she'd outgrown her current space, but it wasn't until it began leaking from the ceiling that she decided to make the leap—and to do that, she called her Dad. Together, the pair scouted a new location, then brought the Chaos Studio Salon team together to lovingly transform the space. Now, master and senior stylists transform locks with Paul Mitchell tools and color beneath twinkling chandeliers, and walls and doors lined with repurposed barn boards offset the bright colors and dynamic artwork that surround the Bubble, Hydration, and Color Bars. Lash artists highlight eyes with 3D extensions, and at the Tool Bar , guests can pick up a few products for use at home or while hang gliding to a special event.
A profusion of flowers frames the entrance to Salon Maison Rouge, hinting that the treatment rooms inside offer refuge from the hectic rituals of urban life. Their hints prove accurate—once inside, guests immediately take note of the wicker chairs, potted plants, and paintings arranged to promote relaxation. The salon’s stylists create music as they snip their shears, shaping new haircuts to complement the aestheticians’ makeovers. Before indulging in a moisturizing four-layer facial, help yourself to a complimentary snack or beverage and get dressed in the spa’s signature uniform: a soft robe and terrycloth top hat.
