Raquel Gleason discovered her calling while dealing with her mother’s battle with breast cancer. She enlightened her mother and others about the physical and mental benefits of exercise, benefits Raquel experienced herself after Pilates helped correct her spine and foot issues. Today, certified in such skills as personal training, Pilates, CPR, and first aid, Raquel runs Rebel Pilates, where she leads private and group sessions in Reformer Pilates, step-board dance, and barefoot Bhangra (Bollywood) Indian dance. By exposing clients to Pilates and dance, Raquel strives to impart total-body balance, which could previously only be achieved by a steady diet of gyroscopes.
Laureen Mikos was barely walking before she started tapping, stepping, and swinging. At age five, she discovered a love of dance, studying jazz, ballet, tap, and modern dance styles before most people grow out of their baby feet. Over the years, her repertoire expanded to include hiphop and bellydancing, as well as Zumba dance fitness.
At Shakin' It Up Dance and Fitness Center, she leads a team of personal trainers, dancers, and fitness instructors to impart choreographed wisdom in dance and exercise classes. Fountain of Yoga's staff focuses on motivating its clients toward complete wellness through yoga, and tension- and pain-relieving therapies.
