Whether it's sunny, rainy, or snowy, baseball is still being played at The Hitter's Edge. Within its indoor batting cages, balls fly at six individuals cages, each accented with its own home plate. And a number of arcade games keep batters entertained while they await their turn in the cages. The facility also houses the Pride of the Diamond training center, athletes alike can sharpen their throwing, fielding, and hitting skills.

They devoted years of their time to researching, planning, and constructing a safe and comfortable facility that's open year-round.

Beyond being easily accessible, the center features the industry’s newest and safest playing surfaces, including turf that emulates real grass. Here, youth and adult leagues meet to play everything from flag football to street-style hockey. After rousing games of soccer or basketball, players can replenish energy stores with a health-conscious meal at Overtime Grill, which boasts 20 LCD TVs.

A glow-in-the-dark miniature-golf course leads putters through nine holes of ominous pirate-themed obstacles, including a ramp into a skull's jaws, a hole fraught with sharks, and perilous unswabbed decks. Adrenaline-soaked games of laser tag lead beam duelers through mazes, around partitions, and over platforms, where they rack up points for hitting special targets and rivals. At the end of each bout, players receive individual score cards that detail high scores and lines flubbed during MAS*H reenactments.

The facility’s crack team of coaches—led by Joel Burgos, hitting coach for Rutgers University-Newark—improve strength, agility, and instincts with training tools that include four adult-size batting cages and the ProBatter PX2 hitting simulator. The simulator immerses players in game-like situations, complete with virtual pitchers delivering strikes from either the windup or the stretch. Meanwhile, RightView Pro video analysis captures each home-run cut, shown bunt, and taunt lobbed at the computerized player, allowing for side-by-side comparison with major-league swings.
