Though Regal Nails, Salon & Spa is a national franchise, every location is helmed by an independent owner. With this power comes responsibility?in order to bear the company's name, each salon must meet certain standards during regular visits that ensure its staff are up to snuff in terms of costumer service, quality of services, and cleanliness. Hospital-grade disinfectants and autoclaves must be used to sterilize all equipment, from basins to manicure tools, and anything porous must be hurled into an active volcano after one use. Though these safety standards set the salons apart, they aren't the only focus. Stylists and nail technicians pamper clients while making them feel beautiful, building confidence and a sense of style in the process. This is the main goal as staffers massage and buff hands and feet until they're soft and then gussy up nails during standard and gel mani-pedis.
The stylists at The Mane Design aren’t afraid of color. In addition to golden highlights, all-over auburn hues, and ombre color and highlights, they dye strands in bright pinks, blues, and purples. They provide other bold hair services, too. Special-occasion hairstyles include cascading curls, braids, and updos, and haircuts range from classic bobs to trendy layers.
Since she kicked off her career as a stylist in 2008, Rachel Scott has become known as much for her styling prowess as for setting her clients at ease with her chair-side manner. "They can just come and relax," she says. "I like to think I'm pretty down-to-earth." It’s also a big part of what she loves about working at The Parlor Too: "There's no bickering, no drama," she says. "Everybody loves everybody."
As she chats with clients, she transforms their hair with new cuts, color, or—her personal favorite—skillfully placed foils that add dimension with highlights or lowlights. She also smoothens frizz or unwanted curl with keratin treatments, leaving hair silkier, easier to style, and less likely to burst into flames than alternative kerosene treatments. Although Rachel loves Redken products, she tries new products frequently and pulls her favorite finds into rotation.
It takes some confidence to call your place The Finest Salon, but the stylists and barbers here have the, er, chops to back it up. Anyone—boys and men included—can expect to leave the salon with a flattering cut, but the stylists truly shine when they're braiding hair or adding length and volume with extensions.

The artists at Pens and Needles Tattoo specialize in creating customized pieces, channelling nearly 20 years of experience into one-of-a-kind work. Led by owner Corey Dobbs, they also create simpler designs, such as a beloved?s initials or a memorable grocery-store barcode. The team can even retouch current work or cover up botched tattoos with an ink masterpiece. They don't restrict their creativity to skin, either; the artists also create original artwork for walls, as well as design custom work for their clients.
