Four clay shooting courses set among the forests and fields surrounding Little Creek Lodge faithfully simulate real hunting in the great outdoors. Varying in difficulty levels to ensure enjoyment for both the novice and expert shooter, each course guides gun toters through a series of targets shot from at least 10 launching stations, each automated to protect employees from becoming attached to the clay pigeons and keeping them as pets. For an hour or longer, shooters take aim at a variety of targets that brazenly challenge shooters with the same flight patterns of wild game birds, or by rolling and hopping along the ground—called “rabbits” because they mimic bunny somersaults.

All of the hours spent at Milford Hills' shooting lanes and sporting-clays courses pay off as soon as you venture out onto the members-only hunting grounds. Five-hundred acres encompass forests, open fields, and water. Here, guides and dogs lead members through 12 fields, where the skies and trees brim with game birds including quail, ducks, and pheasants. It's not just hunters who can appreciate this setting, however. Milford Hills also plays host to corporate events and weddings, and an onsite pub serves a unique Friday fish fry.
For the past 29 years, John and Loie Laimon have proudly contributed to the tight-knit fishing community that surrounds them by running their own fishing-and-bait business. Whether they are selling U.S.-made, handcrafted baits or other handpicked products, renting pontoons for small groups, or winterizing boat motors by fastening Santa hats to them, the Laimons approach each service personably and attentively. This approach has helped them grow to two locations on Pewaukee Lake.
Gander Mountain Academy's simulators render virtual targets at varying distances and with real-world precision, including accurate bullet holes. The simulators' technology delivers an array of training benefits, such as making the experience less intimidating for novices and letting advanced students choose more sophisticated target scenarios. Gander Mountain's ownership developed this training technology upon recognizing that with over 130 stores, it was among the nation's largest retailer of firearms. This led to Gander Mountain Academy, a place where technology meets elite-training resources previously available only to the military and law enforcement.
