The Big Backyard's owners each have two children of their own and struggled for a long time to find all-weather activities to please their own kids of different ages. They finally decided to create their own playground to address all their needs, building an indoor space with slides, climbing structures, and climate control. "I enjoy that various ages of children can have fun at our playground," says co-owner Christine. "Infants, toddlers, and school-age children all can find things to do."
Of course, they didn't just design the place with kids in mind—they also wanted to make the experience enjoyable for families. An open floor design provides clear sight lines for parents, in addition to plenty of room for kids to run, crawl, or pretend to be late to a meeting. Christine adds: "Parents with multiple children tell us they love the visibility of the play area, as they can watch more than one child at once."
There's something for kids of all ages and interests at Kids in Motion. Toddlers and preschoolers can amuse themselves with rubber balls in the open play area, while older children navigate overhead tunnels and a punching-bag forest. Miniature Monets can stretch their creative muscles in the arts-and-crafts center, budding engineers can build their own railroad in the train room, and aspiring scientists can learn about nature with hands-on experiments in the science and conservation room. Children with a flair for the dramatic can even create a skit and put on a show in the Center Stage room. Whatever activity children choose, Kids in Motion offers a safe, clean environment where little ones can explore their interests.

In more than two decades spent teaching golf, PGA instructor Kevin Crusan has found that being dogmatic about a particular method or a model swing can be counterproductive. Instead, Kevin uses what he calls a "student-centered" swing model, tailoring his teaching approach to the strengths and abilities of each individual pupil—while still drawing inspiration from the numerous successful techniques used by the world's best golfers. This approach has proven effective, as Kevin has helped coach golfers who have won state championships and competed at the collegiate and professional level.
At RAIN Massage and Wellness, licensed therapist Leah gives clients her specialty deep-tissue massages. The customized technique can help loosen muscles that have been pulled, strained, or knotted from a Twister tournament. Leah also uses trigger-point and myofascial-release methods, and clients can get extra soothed with hot-towel add-ons.
