Valentina knows the rhythms of Zumba by heart. Born and raised in Uruguay, she spent four years studying the traditional dances of her home country and two additional years learning candombe, a cultural dance of the Afro-Uruguayan community. Latin dance remained a major part of her life even after she moved to the U.S., where she studied salsa and merengue. Valentina fell in love with Zumba when she realized she could combine all the styles of dance she enjoyed into one intense cardio workout.
Today, Valentina brings her extensive knowledge of traditional dance styles to all her classes, teaching alongside another dancer, Madi Di Cara. They demonstrate dancing styles and techniques in ballet, hip-hop, and salsa, as well as teaching slower Zumba Gold classes and leading age-appropriate dances in Zumbatomic kids' classes.
Zumba instructor Alexandria brings the energy to her classes at Dance Attitude. Here, she teaches Zumba, a popular Latin-dance-inspired cardio class. Each dance routine is set to a fast-paced, international beat, and the party-like atmosphere that Alexandria creates in each session helps keeps students motivated.
A class at Josie’s International School of Dance is like a passport to the pulsating rhythms of the world. You can groove to the sultry beats of Latin music, sway through a traditional belly-dance routine, or slow-dance with a saxophone during a jazz class. Youth and adult classes explore these and other disciplines in depth with teachers who have studied everywhere from the Joffrey Ballet School in New York to private dance schools in Egypt.

What is the biggest mistake you see people make when trying to get fit on their own?
Mistakes in form lead to injury. It is very common for people to come to us with back, neck, and shoulder injuries resulting from diligent—but incorrect—home fitness routines. Even if you know the proper form, it isn't always easy to tell if you are implementing it correctly. For this reason, even the best instructors often have their own instructors to observe their form.
Besides working out, what else can clients do to spend their time at your facility?
