Madeleines Bakehouse uses local and organic eggs in all of its recipes—including banana bread, coffee cake, and chocolate bouchon—ensuring high levels of vitamins and a soft richness.
Fort Wayne Ballet began pirouetting in 1956 to enrich the community’s arts offerings with dance instruction and performances. Beginning with its inaugural performance of Cinderella, the ballet company has performed timeless pieces including The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Swan Lake. In addition to its shows and classes, Fort Wayne Ballet maintains strong links to the community, which is evident in its theme: everybody dances. The Ballet works to find adoptive families for dogs through the Muttcracker program, produces trading cards with dancers, I&M linemen and players from each of Fort Wayne’s minor league teams, and stages three main stage productions and three Family Series performances per year.

Rather than let the processes of invention and tinkering stay confined to basements and workshops, the annual Fort Wayne Regional Maker Faire, powered by TekVenture, thrusts them into Headwaters Park for a family-friendly outdoor event. Up to 100 "makers"—artists, scientists, and tinkerers who invent, experiment, and create—showcase their crafts through live demonstrations and hands-on interactive experiences. These displays cover the spectrum of technology, using materials ranging from wood and fabric to electronics. Beyond the exhibits, the annual event features engineering challenges, live sets from local musicians, and stunt-filled BMX demonstrations. Locally produced food is also available for purchase.
