Colosseum Gym Fitness Empire doesn't waste any of its 23,000 square feet. More than 100 cardio machines stand ready, including ellipticals, stationary bikes, and treadmills equipped with 17-inch LCD television screens. In addition to strength-training machines and rack after rack of free weights, the gym features an aerobics studio where trainers lead as many as six group fitness classes each day. As if that weren't enough, head upstairs and you'll find an extreme fitness center with plenty of boxing and MMA-style training opportunities. The gym even employs an in-house DJ to keep exercisers motivated with upbeat jams and inspiring State of the Union remixes.
Hamilton Health and Fitness takes a naturalistic approach to holistic wellness, reflected in the architecture of its warm, sunlit structure whose walls merge with natural stone and wood finishes. A network of futuristic exercise machines and inventive classes complement the luminous interior. Matrix equipment brings futuristic flair to the luminous interior, each outfitted with 15-inch televisions casting a glow over each pedaling guest. Virtually eliminating the need for a dedicated robot manservant, the G7 strength series counts reps automatically. In the fully equipped Project Pilates studio, Reformers and Wunda Chairs await visitors. The heated indoor pool hosts solo lap workouts, Water Bootcamp classes, and family swim. Even little ones can romp through a fitness landscape in the supervised children's room and jungle gym.
The Gateway Family YMCA works to strengthen their community and foster healthy lifestyles in more than 13 neighborhoods throughout Eastern Union and Middlesex counties. To that end, the staffers at the four area branches lead programs geared toward youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. They motivate folks of all ages to get fit during swimming and fitness classes, and teach kids lifelong skills during day camps.

Q&A with Michele, Business Owner
Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
Exercising alone takes a lot of self-discipline. Although it is done, there is that fraction of people who need motivation. One-on-one training with a certified personal trainer can certainly give you that extra push to obtain your body goals. And, if that doesn't suit you, then group training with a friend or aerobics classes can motivate a client. It's social, fun, and a great workout.
What's the most radical physical transformation you've seen a client make?
A person who hired a personal trainer for one year told us he went through a divorce, let alcohol consume him, gained excessive weight, and suffered depression. He knew it was time for a change, so he took the initiative to join the gym and hire a personal trainer. He not only lost 55 pounds, but also rejuvenated his spirit. We were very very proud of his transformation.
Whether training for a tournament or learning the rules for the first time, tennis players have plenty to love about the Pennsbury Racquet Club. Nine indoor courts, each newly resurfaced and illuminated with extra-bright, eco-friendly lighting, invite players to test their skills against each other, a ball machine, or the disapproving sports announcer in their head. To take players' games to the next level, USPTA- and PTR-certified coaches, some with more than 25 years of experience, offer private and semi-private lessons. There's also an on-site racket repair center, where players can get their equipment restrung and customized by a professional tech who's worked for Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, and Maria Sharapova. Pennsbury Racquet Club also offers fitness classes such as Zumba, Piloxing, Pilates, and more.
