Located in New Providence's Village Shopping Center, Elements Therapeutic Massage is a professional massage studio that believes massage can be the answer to dealing with chronic pain and stress. Here, licensed massage therapists use deep strokes and focused pressure to relieve everything from muscle aches to back injuries. But before they do so, they make sure to listen to clients carefully so they can learn what ails them. This means every massage is a customized experience, like those choose-your-own-adventure movies that theaters can only project for one person at a time. And because massages by their nature increase circulation, the center believes the practice has benefits even beyond pain and stress relief.
Licensed massage therapist Peter Eichler sharpened his therapeutic touch at the Sedona School of Massage, where he learned to blend deep-tissue techniques with bodywork such as reiki and sound therapy to sideline chronic tension. Peter also specializes in trauma release therapy, bodywork from an emotional perspective, and performs hospice and autism massages to calm the nervous system.
The products at The Fountain of Youth Spa are safe enough to eat. It took a trip to Sedona, Arizona, to rekindle Kathy Zagorski’s passion for Japanese reiki treatments. Inspired by the natural beauty and energies of the high desert, Kathy decided to rededicate her life to helping clients overcome everything from stress to chronic pains through the use of reiki. Kathy asks her clients to lie on a massage table—still fully clothed or clad in chainmail—and concentrate on their breathing. She then proceeds to place her hands on various points of the body, searching for signs of blocked or restricted energetic flow. By redirecting the body’s natural energies and helping clear these blockages, Kathy restores a sense of balance between the mind, the body, and the spirit. This sense of balance can help alleviate the physical and emotional symptoms of conditions such as anxiety, depression, and grief.
