Dr. Victor Atun is a board-certified plastic surgeon who describes himself as, "devoted to rejuvenating and enhancing your natural beauty." The goal of Dr. Atun and his staff is never to create a drastically different face, body, or soul-music collection. Rather, their philosophy is based in bringing patients' own unique beauty to the surface by touching up existing features. In addition to surgeries, the spa performs laser hair removal and fosters aesthetics with facials of varying degrees of intensiveness.
After graduating with honors from medical school, Dr. Atun left his native Lima, Peru to complete for internships and residencies in Florida and Ohio. Since then, the surgeon has practiced a variety of medical disciplines in a variety of states and countries, finally opening his own cosmetic practice in 2000. Though he's settled in Sugar Land, Dr. Atun regularly returns to Peru and Ecuador on medical missions. Emulating his dedication, the whole team attends professional lectures and conferences to let their skills and knowledge grow with their field.
Calling on at least 10 years of experience each, the stylists at Hair Zone transform looks with an arsenal of creative beauty tools. Beyond precision haircuts, they imbue stunning color with Schwarzkopf products, including the Igora Color10 line that can cover gray hairs in just 10 minutes. For even bolder styles, they affix custom hair extensions to natural locks, harnessing subtle shades to blend in with the original hair or funky hues to create the effects of highlights without using dye or hiding inside a child's coloring book. The stylists can even enhance texture with frizz-boosting Brazilian blowouts, and boost luster with moisturizing shine-enhancer treatments. Amid its sunshine-yellow walls and glossy wood floors, Hair Zone lines its shelves with Nexxus Organics, Shiva, and CHI products.
Ash? Laser Med Spa isn?t owner Aisha Khalid?s first stint in the beauty world. The certified laser technician boasts 20 years of experience that includes owning the 15-location Aisha?s Salon & Spa, as well as her own clothing boutique and makeup and skincare line, Ash? Skin Care. Now, as a certified laser-hair-removal professional, she?s opened a laser med spa where she performs laser hair removal, laser skin tightening, and the VI chemical peel. Using an FDA-approved Candela GentleYAG laser, she targets unwanted hair follicles to remove strands without harming surrounding tissue. Khalid tends to other skin issues, including sun damage and aging, by applying a VI peel that clears up acne, shrinks pores, and lifts off any bumper stickers attached to the face.
The padded arena inside Great Play of Cypress is a place of transformation. Through interactive activities, kids ages 6 months to 12 years old build new motor skills and develop full ranges of movement. After the Introductory Motor Skills Program, Great Play's instructors help kids learn coordination and agility, which will come into play during sports. Great Play also hosts Zumba for Kids, Birthday Parties, and a Parents' Night Out. For the latter, Great Play's kids experts supervise and occupy children while moms and dads go out on dates or stay at home and play with Legos.
At Shea Essence Day Spa, the noise and stress of the outside world melt into the spa's signature organic shea butter. The product exemplifies the business' core belief: that beauty and wellness go hand-in-exfoliated-hand. Aestheticians use the body product during treatments such as the Herbs and Organic Shea Butter Deluxe Manicure or the Back Facial Treatment. During both, the shea butter exfoliates and moisturizes skin, rendering it healthier and more youthful looking.
Other treatments eschew the shea butter for hydrating creams, mud body wraps, or body products designed for specific clientele, such as men or expectant mothers. The spa also houses an infrared sauna where infrared heat travels deep within the body to promote blood flow and a detoxifying sweat.
The open floor of Sweet Escape Nail Lounge has the social, lounge-like feel of a vibrant discotheque, with mismatched green, pink, and purple chairs strewn about the space. As clients repose in their seat of choice, technicians meticulously groom fingers and toes with Shellac and gel enhancements or smooth countenances with cleansing facial treatments. The staff performs body-waxing and massage treatments in a more secluded space, away from the main room's dramatic crystal chandeliers and sparkling beaded curtains that rain down from high, lofted ceilings. Exposed brick and curious ghosts are visible through carefully designed walls patches, lending the space a chic, industrial air.
