The team at MasterPark is doing its best to make yellow the favorite color of Seattle citizens. Its bright, sun-colored shuttles ferry people to and from terminals at SeaTac Airport?all while cars safely wait.

The process is easy. Simply drive into covered drop-off area for valet service in MasterPark Lot C. Shuttle drivers then help passengers with their luggage, before taking them to the airport. Upon return, a phone call at one of the airport's shuttle pickup islands is all it takes to dispatch a yellow van that returns customers to Lot C. MasterPark's staff monitors all lots 24 hours a day and 25 hours on leap days.

Behind the verdant palm fronds painted onto Tropical Island Tan’s front windows, three levels of UV beds and trained tanning technicians stand ready to impart skin with a summery hue. The staff loads up airbrushes with an aloe-based Swoosh Sunless tanning solution, then coats bodies in two layers of the spray to ensure full, long-lasting coverage in the face of swimming, showering, or napping in a fountain. Outside the private-tanning rooms, the staff displays Designer Skin, OC, and body butter products and helps tanners select the best regimen for their skin type and desired bronzing level.

On 10 a.m. on the first day of 2013, City Park's Great Lawn will fill with people ready to start the year off not with a resolution, but a commitment—a commitment to a healthy lifestyle. They'll run, walk, or jay-walk through the park and Marconi Drive on the flat, fast course, which it circles back to the Great Lawn where they started. After the race, runners can stick around for a post-race party to celebrate a successful first morning of the New Year.

In more than 30 cities across the nation, other runners will be participating in similar events as part of a movement that aims to stymie the rising rates of obesity and inaction in the United States.

For more than 100 years, Pike Place Market has been the epitome of a marketplace. The bustling cobblestone streets are packed with farmers, craftsmen, and performers, and the aproned employees of Pike Place Fish Market famously toss around freshly caught fish during traditional games of fishball. Public Market Tours' guides lead groups through and beneath these sights and sounds twice a day, shedding light on Seattle's history. A portion of the ticket sales benefits the Pike Place Market Foundation, which supports low-income and senior residents.

A American Limo’s extravagant limousines coddle guests like royalty. As a team of dedicated drivers pilot their eye-catching vehicles to concerts, bachelorette parties, airports, and proms, guests lounge in backseats decked out with sumptuous leather interiors, neon lights, and decanter-filled, gleaming wooden bars. During sightseeing tours and wedding celebrations, shined-up Chevrolet Suburbans and Lincoln Towncars with 20-inch rims cut through streets, only one inch shy of the rims on Thomas Jefferson's carriage.

Corks and Canvas Events, like a work of fine art, came about by pairing a good idea with a passion to create. The founders both came from the marketing world, where they spent their days devising campaigns and events to inspire their audiences to take action. A shared love for art and wine inspired them to bend their action-creating talents toward a new goal?hosting painting and wine events in area wineries and wine bars, allowing guests to "uncork their creativity" and promote the burgeoning Washington wine industry in a social setting.

Their idea took the form of Corks and Canvas Events, where experienced artists lead guests step-by-step through the painting creation process. Guests re-create various paintings, everything from lush vineyard scenes to preening roosters, while sipping on glasses of local wines.
