Andrea Stephens Dunn, owner of Beautiful Image, has performed thousands of permanent makeup applications in her prolific career as a cosmetic artist. She is both a Certified Dermal Technologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Micropigmentation and she uses her talents to fill in sparse brows, pale lips, and paint-by-number eyelids with natural-looking hues.
Andrea is joined at her studio by licensed medical aesthetician Abby Hern, a champion of healthy, youthful skin and dermal education. After graduating with honors from the Georgia Career Institute in 2008, she has since broadened her knowledge of facials, waxing, chemical peels, and medical-grade skin care products while working at Beautiful Image. Her specialities include correcting hyperpigmention, acne, fine lines, and wrinkles. Karen Rinkiewicz, a licensed medical aesthetician and 2006 graduate from the Atlanta School of Aesthetics, works in tandem with the team while focusing on anti-aging procedures, including laser therapy and skin analysis.
At Four Seasons Salon & Spa, a team of stylists and aestheticians keeps their clientele looking spruce with a range of skin, hair, and nail treatments that employ high-end products. A slate of five facials tackles concerns ranging from teenage acne to hard-earned laugh lines with treatments that hydrate, boost immunity, and free pores of deep-seated grime. The spa’s stylists tame hair with Redken shampoos and conditioners, or reinvent looks with color treatments ranging from partial highlights to double-process coverage. In the salon, nail technicians paint fingers and toes with durable OPI and Shellac polish to ensure their meticulous work stays chip-free, while lash specialists add volume to each blink with durable NovaLash extensions.
Using a combined 21 years of skincare experience, the staff at Seraphim Skin Care leave skin glowing, even-toned and exfoliated. Since opening its doors in 1997, the medical spa has always carried prescription topical medications and professional peels for purchase, along with creamy moisturizers for the face or body. Within the elegant and comfortable environment, customers can also opt for serious skincare treatments including aromatic fruit peels that boast intense cleansing benefits, Peel and Bleach procedures, sugar-salicylic body treatments, and pampering spa packages. Champagne is available upon request.
Picture perfect. That's the motto at Drexina Nelson Salon, where the stylists create looks that make each client look like they're about to walk the red carpet or a runway, even if that runway is just the entrance to a local coffee shop. Its stylists are well-versed in creating these picture-perfect looks, as they've worked with Today's Black Woman and Industria magazines to primp models, including The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Porsha Stewart.
Located in the English Avenue Yards complex in downtown Atlanta, the salon has an NYC-modeled look, from the sleek black leather couch and chairs in the waiting area to its high loft ceilings and exposed beams. Its services are equally chic. Along with haircare services that include precision cuts, custom color, and deep-conditioning, the beauty specialists here apply natural and special-occasion makeup, define brows, apply lash extensions, and soothe skin with facials.
Megan Smith spent 10 years in the corporate world before returning to her first love—making people more beautiful. When she started A Lash LifeStyle by JMeganMarie! in 2009, it was a one-woman operation and she did one thing: applied eyelash extensions. Today, she owns and operates two locations—one in Dallas and another in Atlanta—, where hopeful extensionists can take classes for certification.
After a free consultation, customers choose from three levels of drama, to get 55, 70, or 80 lashes added to each eye. These natural-looking extensions are added to natural lashes, where they'll stay until the natural lash sheds or runs away from home. Lashes should stay lush for two to three weeks, at which time Megan recommends returning for a refill appointment.
Anna Burns took a circuitous route to her current profession: art school, Nickelodeon storyboard artist, and tattooist. It was only in her last job that she found an outlet for what she describes on her website as "a passion for transforming the human body through her art." Carefully wielding her inks, she subtly transforms faces, filling out eyebrows, etching in eyeliner that naturally enhances the lash line, and gifting lips with head-turning color that doesn't come from a lipstick tube or Kool-Aid packet. Her studio also specializes in collagen-rejuvenation therapy, which helps activate the skin's natural healing processes by creating thousands of tiny holes, jump-starting the creation of new, youthful skin.
