With more than 1,800 gyms in 10 countries around the globe and 24/7 access, Anytime Fitness makes it as easy as possible for its members to get in shape. Multiple strength-training and cardio machines can build stamina, increase agility, and tone limbs to rival the crisp bicep lines of statues in a nearby park. The center’s virtual classes teach fitness disciplines such as yoga, cycling, and kickboxing. Group training brings those disciplines into 3-D. As far as amenities, private showers and HDTV are just two of the many additional touches that make Anytime Fitness a welcoming workout arena.
Members at Snap Fitness undertake healthy journeys on a wide variety of free weights, cardio, and strength-training equipment in a pristine facility bursting with supportive vibes. Along with a two-month membership, enjoy three training sessions under the expert guidance of certified personal trainers. Prior to commencing work, the trainer reviews each member's medical history, lays out a framework of achievable goals, and tests their pupil's strength, endurance, flexibility, and likelihood to pull a semi across a parking lot using only their teeth. The trainer then devises a personalized workout plan and nutritional strategy, trackable online at MySnapFitness. Staffed hours vary day by day, but the club's doors are open to members 24 hours around the clock or even more when the absentminded sun forgets to set.
As days start to shorten and the leaves start to fall, guests of all ages congregate at Campbell's Farm for an annual autumn celebration. General admission grants kids access to a petting zoo, a purple dragon bounce house, and a pumpkin-painting station, and extra amusements such as pony rides, face painting, or a challenging needle-in-a-haystack game provide enough family-friendly fun to last an entire afternoon. Children can also wind their way through the cornstalk-lined path of a 4-acre fun maze, while the bravest among them dare to navigate the labyrinth after dark, risking chance encounters with spooks around every twisting turn. After a spine-tingling tour on one of the farm's haunted hayrides, groups can also be spotted warming up around the glow of rented bonfires as they roast hot dogs or marshmallows to quell hunger pangs or construct extremely perishable birdhouses.
Bryan designed his first CrossFit class when he was stationed in Afghanistan, using any equipment he could get his hands on: sandbags, weight volleyballs, steel rods. He enjoyed the challenge and the functional fitness aspects of CrossFit and saw the connection between the CrossFit mentality and the one he had during his 20 years of service in the army. Today, he and his fellow trainers lead students of all levels through intense CrossFit classes within his high-ceilinged, well-stocked facility, using climbing ropes, massive tires, and the camaraderie of a group.
The moss-colored fishing pond at Mountain Springs Trout Park is always rippling. Sometimes, the minor currents that wrinkle its surface come from the underwater movements of shimmering fins. Other times, they're from the line of a child excited to have felt a fish's pull. An armory of fishing poles, lines, hooks, nets, and bait saves visitors the trouble of buying their own gear or climbing the mountains that worms live on top of. Nearby, the staff cleans and fillet the fish, scraping away their rose and emerald scales and packing the fish on ice to be fried, baked, or broiled at a later date.
