Plymouth Sky Sports staffers coach newbies through every step of the tandem-skydiving process, from prelaunch to postlanding. Before embarking on a skyward voyage, parachuting novices attend a half-hour instructional class going through the fundamentals of skydiving, including which direction to fall and which birds are jerks. Certified diving buddies fit each cadet with a safety harness and a full set of jumping gear before ascending two miles skyward, attaching themselves to their students, and launching both bodies into the blue. After a one-minute freefall, the parachute deploys, and students can use their newfound skills to help steer toward the landing target or nearby half-time show.
The gravity-savvy professionals and instructors at Air Indiana Skydiving Center oversee safe and controlled adrenaline rushes every year between late March and early November. In addition to a comprehensive ground school, they also teach practical skills with training jumps that leave from Delphi Municipal Airport. Over time, they help familiarize students with skydiving by leading controlled tandem jumps, instructor-assisted deployments, and accelerated free falls that exit planes from as high as 9,500 feet.
In addition to its staff of instructors, Air Indiana Skydiving Center also hosts a professional skydiving team. The team of pro jumpers can perform demonstration jumps for company picnics or groundbreaking ceremonies for the neighborhood's new wind tunnel.
From his first ?low and slow? flight in a powered parachute, novice Paul Whybrew was hooked. After snatching up his own Buckeye Dream Machine and earning his flight license, Whybrew created Why Fly Inc. with his wife Susie in order to share the unique, open-air cockpit experience with others. A passionate ambassador for the PPC experience, Whybrew takes guests into the skies while also helping fellow devotees earn their individual license.

Under the supervision of experts, brave souls defy gravity as they skydive, hang-glide, bungee jump, or play films of apples falling off trees in reverse. On land, crews harness the power of horses, stock cars, and snowmobiles; in the water, groups navigate whitewater rapids or explore aquatic depths as they scuba dive or surf.
