With 19-foot high ceilings, bright colored walls, clean exposed brick, and cast iron flourishes, Shear Salon maintains a vibe that is both upbeat and contemporary. This lively salon is owned by Jodi Schwartz Grieshop, who studied under the founder of Aveda and worked as a stylist in the film, photography, and theater industries. Here, Jodi has assembled an equally talented cast of master stylists and makeup artists who dole out everything from haircuts, glazes, and keratin treatments to transform clients into the best version of themselves.
Jodi and her crew at Shear Salon emphasize comfort, which extend to more than just the rich wood furnishings and mosaic tile artwork. Upon entering, clients are offered a choice of complimentary beverages, as well as access to free Wi-Fi.
To explore her more artistic side through styling, Memphis native Nai'Vasha Johnson moved to Atlanta. With the new environment came a creative surge of provocative, sophisticated, and colorful looks that are at home in magazine editorials and on the heads of fashionable clients. Nai'Vasha, a Paul Mitchell the School graduate, was named a finalist in the Newcomer of the Year category at the 2013 North American Hairstyling Awards. When not transforming tresses out of her cozy studio, she gussies up models for high-end publications such as Obvious, Idoll, and Sophisticates Hair.
Through more than 15 years in the industry, stylist and makeup artist Minrell Bowers has masterminded makeup for theatrical performances, honed her cutting technique with Aveda, and developed her own sense of styling smarts. At A'jewel4sure Hair & Makeup Studio, she and her staff beautify clients' hair with cuts that run the gamut from conventional to contemporary and creative. The stylists cut, color, and treat hair of all ethnicities. Products from Redken and Moroccanoil moisturize strands more effectively than standing underneath a waterfall until your head is numb.
As a licensed aesthetician and makeup artist, Elizabeth St. John-Hall has what it takes to make skin shine. When working with clients, she typically takes a holistic approach to revamping their skin, administering the treatments and showing them the beneficial nutrition and lifestyle changes that will help them achieve their desired looks. To that end, all of her facials, peels, and body treatments can be tailored to meet specific skincare needs. Her makeup applications complete the picture.
