Many daughters inherit looks or personality from their mothers; Jennifer inherited 25 siberian huskies. Since receiving a government small-business loan on her 20th birthday, the young entrepreneur has channelled her passion for her pups and sledding into MUSHERS Dog-Sled Tours. Made up primarily of siberian huskies, Jennifer’s teams whisk visitors away on handcrafted freight sleds during treks across more than 80 acres of woodland trails.

After a brief tutorial, visitors can hop onto preharnessed teams for short jaunts or learn how to harness and hook up their own teams. Excursions cross a variety of terrain, from nighttime trails lit by tiki torches to challenging trips that cross barren ponds, frozen rivers, and shark-infested puddles. Those seeking more of a physical challenge can take an overnight camping trip with the dogs, and school groups can enroll in three-day programs that combine hands-on activities such as dog sledding and snowshoe hikes. Once their trips come to an end, visitors can reward the dogs with a tasty treat and bowl of water, or meet one of the pups MUSHERS’ currently has up for adoption.
