Las Bahias Restaurant gives taste buds a master-class on Latin American cuisine. The From the Bay menu plays with Baja Californian coastal traditions for its lobster, shrimp, and seafood dishes, such as Devil Shrimp (sauteed with marinara) and the Bahia dish (shrimp, calamari, clams, and mussels over yellow rice). Moving inland, Las Bahias pays homage to Argentinian asados with an entree menu primarily dedicated to variations on grilled steak and pork chops. Salvadorian pupusas filled with pork and cheese make an appearance, and chicken and corn tamales represent classic Mexican street food. Because Las Bahias casts an improbably wide net, there are plenty of regionally non-specific delights as well, including empanadas, fried plantains, and even hamburgers.

The treats may be frozen, but that doesn't mean they're not flexible. That's because the colorful self-serve dispensers that line Yogurt Crazy?s bright purple walls are equipped to send a rotating lineup of 12 different frozen-yogurt flavors into cups, including nonfat, low-fat, and dairy-free varieties. Guests mix and match their own creations, choosing from flavors as diverse as pomegranate-raspberry tart and Heath toffee. Each swirl of yogurt can then be outfitted with kiwi, Reese's Pieces, and other selections from the topping bar?s 36 mix-ins, which means that patrons can customize their frozen desserts without the gooey mess of branding them with a hot iron.

Louie Demirakos devised Clearwater Charlie's in his late father's name, creating an homage to his unfulfilled vision for—in Charlie’s words—an “eat it and beat it” establishment. The menu is scrawled on chalkboards above the kitchen assembly line, and dishes hit the counter on paper plates, which conveniently fold into paper sailboats to float leftovers home. Though the restaurant gives top billing to seafood, Charlie’s specialty, it also incorporates a slew of American dishes such as barbecue chicken and pork, steak, and burgers with a choice of 22 toppings. The restaurant is also entirely nut-free, ensuring that food-sensitive diners can safely savor any dish that emerges from the bustling kitchen.

Although A Taste of Home specializes in custom-made cakes—such as its ice cream cakes (starting at $14), strawberry shortcakes ($15), and multifariously flavored cheesecake (plain, various fruits, Oreo, amaretto, and more for $15.50–$19.95)—its selection of delightfully dough-based treats encompasses the entire traditional pantheon of divine delicacies. Load your chocolatank with brownies ($1.50) or feed the cookie monster of your soul with oversized rounds such as black-and-whites, chocolate chip, and linzer tarts ($1.25–$2). Custom orders are welcome, and the value of two Groupons can be combined for a supersized cakefest.

An uber-extensive menu of Italy’s favorite dishes are recreated day after day inside Papa Louie’s Pizzeria. Piles of penne and spaghetti pair with fresh italian bread ready to be dunked into a medley of sauces for their own Rorschach test. Chicken, eggplant, and veal change costumes with a marsala, parmigiana, and francaise dressing. The staff bakes 15 specialty pizzas that come in circles or squares, just like the schoolwork given to kindergartners and the most advanced babies. Heros sandwiches are chockfull of baked eggplant, buffalo chicken, and Nani’s famous meatballs. The catering leg of Papa Louie’s Pizzeria feeds partygoers at myriad celebrations: graduations, birthdays, and surprise spring-cleaning parties.

On the façade of Buongusto PieSanos hangs a neon-sculpted slice of pizza, its tip sagging under the weight of cheese, toppings, and the softness of hand-tossed dough. It's a fair of depiction of one of the restaurant's signature offerings—hearty Italian-style pies topped with ingredients including eggplant, baked ziti, or chicken parmigiana. Classic pastas and sandwiches join their circular brethren, and gluten-free and whole-wheat pasta options are available for diners with gluten sensitivity or investments tied up in wheat futures.
