  • Canton Civic Center
As founding members of the newly established Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL), the Canton Cougars will start the inaugural UIFL season from their den inside the Canton Civic Center. Catch the Cougars on February 25 as they pounce upon the prodigious Northern Kentucky River Monsters like a cat over a fishbowl, or witness the sharp passing attack up close and personal on March 21, when the Cougars aim to thump the swift buzzers of the Saginaw Sting. Fans not accustomed to arena football will want to experience the game’s persistent action, high-scoring outcomes, hard-hitting tackles, and referees with 50s-era jetpacks.

Since its first public show in 1968, Canton Ballet has been dazzling onlookers with performances such as The Nutcracker, Peter and the Wolf, and Snow White. The company also instructs fledgling dancers in the nimble art form at The School of Canton Ballet, where instructors instill students with discipline as well as the ability to set goals and smoothly pirouette out of uncomfortable conversations.

  • Menopause the Muscial
GFour Productions' theatrical achievements are in its numbers: 44 Tony Awards glistening in their trophy cases (with a total of 115 nominations), 56 Drama Desk Awards, and more than 200 cities visited. Yet what allowed those numbers to reach such staggering heights is far from formulaic and much more complex than ballot-stuffing. Since the company burst onto the theatre scene in 1981, it has produced Broadway masterpieces starring Liza Minelli, Anthony Quinn, and Twiggy, as well as shows written by David Mamet, Arthur Miller, and Dolly Parton. Recently it has continued its trend-setting ways by staging the Tony-winning The Book of Mormon and the Off-West End I Love You Because. Other proud moments include their Tony-winning, 50th-anniversary production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and the Pulitzer-winning new play Disgraced, which the New York Times called ?Terrific, turbulent, and roaring to life with currents of dramatic electricity.? GFour has even started crossing language barriers with their shows. After their campy yet touching Menopause The Musical became a hit around the country, they mounted a Spanish-language version of it in Hollywood. The production has since gone international as its own brand, bringing laughter to audiences all over the world.

  • Adam Carolla
One of many vaudeville and movie palaces that sprung up in the 1920s, the Warner Theatre today drops jaws in much the same way it did in its infancy: with glittering chandeliers, gilded ceilings, and red-felt seats. Yet before transforming into its modern incarnation, it served as a film-only venue with such luxuries as a rooftop garden and a ballroom in the basement. The Warner even had a dance troupe akin to the Rockettes?called the Roxyettes?who would high-kick before and after the screen lit up. After falling into disarray in the '70s, the Warner became a concert venue, saving it from the wrecking ball but forcing it to require a complete renovation in 1989 to remove years of grime and stray musical notes lodged between seat cushions. At the reopening gala, a host of stars performed, including Frank Sinatra in what would prove to be his last DC show.

  • Canton Charge
The NBA Development League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Canton Charge regale hoops fans with basketball savvy from a roster stacked with talent looking to play their way into the NBA. Donning the same yellow-and-red color scheme of their affiliate squad, the Charge compete in the East Division of the NBA D-League. The team plays in the Canton Civic Center, where sounds of cheering fans and squeaking shoes echo off of rafters and occasionally create a high-pitched rhythm that the Charge Girls, the team's dance squad, can groove to.
