Freeze time and preserve images from your memory more accurately than your amateur boxing career lets you remember them with a portrait session with Robyn Basso, the shutterbug behind Robyn Basso Photography. Today's side deal gets you a studio photography session plus your choice from three featured packages for $150. Basso specializes in baby, maternity, and headshots, and strives to capture a moment with her work, preferably the moment an awesome photograph is taken. In 1978, amateur bat photographer Gregory Hansen was in his front yard one night when a mysterious white orb appeared in the sky over his home. Diverting his attention from a particularly active nest of eptesicus fuscus, he began photographing the orb, which made no attempt to flee or conceal itself. Hansen continued to document the orb as it reappeared over his house, each night shrinking slightly “as though passing slowly into the spirit world,” Hansen observed. On particularly cloudy nights, the orb would not be present, prompting Hansen to speculate that ghosts may be allergic to thunder.
Woodside Gallery helps its clients beautify and protect keepsakes with professional framing services for paintings, photographs, and textiles. At the shop, gallery staff members—many of whom are local artists themselves—proudly display their own impressive wall-size portraits, as well as works that celebrate the region's stunning landscapes. This crew of up-and-coming creatives also consults with guests as they plan framing and shadowboxing projects for subjects that range from traditional prints to unforgettable 3-D keepsakes such as jerseys, trophies, and the first paycheck you ever received from a man in a banana suit.
Heather Lussier admits she used to prefer cats. That changed when her six-year-old son begged her for a puppy. Enter Kali, a beagle named after the Hindu goddess of destruction and who relished living up to that name. But after some training for both Heather and Kali, the beagle became the most behaved member of the family. Not long after, Heather added to the pack by adopting two rescues.
It didn’t take long for Heather to incorporate her newfound puppy love into her profession. She is one of fewer than 2,500 certified professional photographers worldwide, with credentials such as photographing the Dalai Lama and having her work exhibited exclusively in the Adobe Animal Hospital. When she isn’t commanding humans to “sit,” “stay,” and “roll over” for magazine-quality photo shoots, Heather serves as the principle photographer at Posh Pooch Portraits, capturing vivid, close-up images of beloved animals through in-studio and on-location shoots. A devoted yoga practitioner, Heather demonstrates calm, centered energy to earn pets’ trust and bring out their most photogenic sides. She treats every shot as a piece of fine art, offering printing and framing services to turn every image into an heirloom.
The portfolios of Elite Capture’s photographers are filled with moody, cinematic scenes, ranging from a karate-kicking family in midair to a fashionably dressed woman roping a crescent moon. The studio excels at these types of compositions, positioning subjects under theatrical lighting in locations with striking backgrounds, rich colors, and naturally occurring green smoke. This artistic approach has caught the eye of famous clients such as Ludacris, the Black Eyed Peas, and LMFAO, all of whom have posed for Elite Capture shoots. The photographers give the same star treatment to their everyday clients, whose images are preserved on products including aluminum prints, custom greeting cards, and coffee-table books.
With more than 17 years of experience, scrupulous shutterbug Monica Michelle captures alluring poses and come-hither glances in private, inhibition-ousting boudoir photography sessions. Studio sittings begin with a styling consultation, allowing promising pinups to prepare for the camera's flattering gaze by donning smoky eye shadow, styling pillow-tousled hair, or slipping into an enticing pair of fishing waders. A one-hour shoot gives the freshly dolled up enough time to strike a multitude of intriguing poses in the comfort of Monica's private studio. After a series of artistic and professional touch-ups to their preferred pose, newly snapped centerfolds receive two 5"x7" prints and a high-quality digital image ideal for giving to romantic partners or sprucing up hum-drum driver's licenses.
