After ascending towering kitchen countertops, bunk beds, and dangerous shoelace-engulfing escalators, the next logical conquest for serious climbers is a rock wall. Rockreation Sport Climbing Center offers 7,500 square feet of sculpted climbing terrain that firms forearms and strengthens finger holsters into walnut-crushing wall motors. During a one-month membership (a $58 value, with an included $39 enrollment fee), climbers will have unlimited access to 45-foot-high walls, bouldering areas, and top rope challenges while improving fitness and shedding gravity’s shackles. Weight machines and cardiovascular equipment are available to help nurture the core strength of a free-climbing gecko, while included climbing equipment outfits members with fashionable gear envied by fashion-forward mountain goats. Before you hit the rocks, Rockreation's experienced instructors will provide helpful climbing tips during one introductory Fight Gravity class (level 1, 2, or 3, depending on experience), included in your new membership. As an added bonus, if you decide to continue your membership beyond your first month, your $39 enrollment fee will be permanently waived.

"What's to-day, my fine fellow?" said Scrooge.

"To-day!" replied the boy. ?Why,?Christmas Day."

In these famous lines from A Christmas Carol, Scrooge might've been asking the wrong question. He should've asked, "What's this weekend?" And the boy's reply: "Why, 1893 all over again."

For three days in December, the Dickens Christmas Festival brings to life the sights, sounds, and experiences of 19th-century London.?Visitors are free to stroll up and down the festival's narrow village streets while browsing the unique gifts and keepsakes of participating vendors. Actors in period costumes will enliven the festival even further, with fortune tellers, orphans, and royalty mixing in amongst the crowd and olde English shops. Of course, the festival's namesake is well represented, too. Fagin, Scrooge, and other characters from Dickens stories roam the streets, and mini productions of tales such as Oliver Twist unfold on multiple stages.?Father Christmas also spends the entire day listening to children wish for presents such as the electric hoop-and-sticks that are all the rage right now.

They may lead outdoor explorers toward certification during up to 72-hour courses in wilderness first aid and CPR, or teach single- and multiday courses in single or multipitch outdoor rock climbing or ice climbing or belay-climbing self-rescue. They also train students to follow in their footsteps through climbing instructor training, including 24-hour AMGA single-pitch-instructor training and assessment.

Founded by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope summons a spirit of hopefulness in at-risk and emancipated foster children through an array of engaging programs, events, and personalized holistic support. After a VIP arrival replete with a red carpet and zambonis snapping pics, NHL alumni and a plethora of Hollywood stars, including Cuba Gooding Jr. and Glee's Cory Monteith, exhibit their checking and slap shooting skills in a charity hockey game at the Park City Ice Arena. In addition to a general-seating spot to view the action, ticketholders can stick around and socialize after the third period at a postgame party hosted on the ice and throughout the arena. Tykes eager to strap on skates of their own can glide into the NHL All Star youth hockey clinic, during which Luc and fellow NHL players review puck-protecting fundamentals before students compete in a pickup game. Clinic registration also bestows attendees with a ticket to the charity game, a new hockey stick, a certificate signed by Luc Robitaille, and miniature penalty box for disobedient action figures.
